I was quite surprised but was somehow relieved (if this is the appropriate term) at the same time when I read this particular discussion of yours. I have a feeling that we're from the same country but I'm sorry I didn't bother to check your profile to see if my hunch is correct.
I've got to admit that like you, I also am married at present. And, my spouse and I have decided that one of us has to sacrifice being away from the family to work and hopefully, earn abroad for the entire family's welfare and more importantly, for our three year old daughter's future education. We both have separate jobs but we still find it difficult to make ends meet. A large part of our salaries go to paying several loans and I think this is the ultimate reason why we can't save any from our pay until now.
Coincidentally, the country you mentioned is the same country my husband and I chose to work in. So I was really surprised to find a fellow Filipino (if I'm not mistaken) who also is a mylotter searching for employment in Singapore and not only this, I myself am an Accounting graduate. Well I guess, like me, you also know already that there isn't much adjustment with regards to time differences and climate on these two countries (Singapore and Philippines).
Initially, I thought that I have to learn Mandarin or a second language which is used by the locals of Singapore but eventually, I discovered that the most commonly used language there is still English.
Another factor which I personally liked about Singapore (even if I still haven't been there) is the fact that it's just three to five hours away from our motherland. Also according to one of my current female officemates, it is just about as big as Metro Manila. Another good thing is that there is less incidents of crime over there and Singaporeans are known to be disciplined people. And from what I've learned from the internet and some Singaporean mylotters here, they do have a Permanent Residency Program which foreigners may apply for as soon as they reach the required number of months of stay in the country. If my memory still serves me right, one is required to have stayed six continous months before he could apply for this. One of the benefits of this program is that you could send for your family to Singapore if and when the Singapore government approves it.
Anyway, I do hope that your plans on migrating there push through, as well as mine. Hope to see you there by next year as I still do have a job locally but by year end, the company I'm working with is planning to close shop.
Good luck, God bless, and keep in touch.

Hi mykmari,so nice to hear from you.And yes you're right we're from the same country. And again yes,we prefer singapore because it is so near to our motherland because we might get bored or feel so homesick,so it would be easy for us to come home for a while because the Plane ticket's very affordable ( hahaha ) and know what, part of the reson why we want to go abroad and work there? Loans and loans and lots of loans so we are getting a hard time saving for our Son's future. We wanted to end those loans. And we feel that working abroad maybe one of our options.Since businesses here in our country is not that good nowadays. And why singapore? The adjustment would not be that hard enough ( that's what we think )Climate are the same. And yes the distance is an advantage. .and all the things you've mention are the reason why we're seeking opportunity in singapore. We have so much in commor, same with our course hahaha. With that i wanted to know you better. I just wish that both our plans may succeed. But wait, look at what our friend in lotters says,it's not a good time now to migrate in singapore since recessions are there.so let's wait awhile.Let's pray that the Lord will give us wisdom on when to decide to go there. And sure want to meet you here or in singapore..keep in touch.I added you as my friend..

I was really looking forward for your comment on my response and glad to know that my hunch was right all along. Anyway, as I've mentioned earlier, I still can't go to Singapore until the first quarter of next year because I still have a job here in our country. Hopefully, all current problems will be cleared by the time we proceed with our plans, God-willing.
Good luck and see you in the near future. Oh, and I've already accepted your friend request. 'Til next discussion.
