I was going to make some sugar cookies and roll them in colored sugar for a Halloween type effect, so they will be drop cookies not the ones you roll out. Do you like sugar cookies? Do you like them frosted? not frosted? rolled in sugar?

Those might be fun for the kids. I have never really been a fan of sugar cookies. I do bake the pre-cut ones for the holidays. But my favorite is chewy chocolate chip.

Hi,
I like sugar cookies, but favorite is really peanut butter and chocolate chip, but on holiday we do use sugar cookies to make for school bake sales and classroom parties. we like them frosted and plain, dropped and rolled. very good either way. I love to decorate them. and then the reward comes when they taste great. so sugar cookies are a good way and yummy way to decorate for the holidays.

Rolled cookies are the best! They are so much fun to do and if you do icing with the tubes - the possibilities are endless! I taught my grand daughter how to do this at age two and she still, now 8, loves doing rolled sugar cookies. My mom was a professional cake baker and I picked up lots from her and my kids never relaly cared about it, but my GD's now love it! My newest is 2 this year and I will start her next few weeks.

I don't know that you can do a sugar cookie via drop. Just make a drop cookie it is easier. But I make the rolled cut outs and as simple enough - just ice them and then sprinkle gemmies or sprinkles (whatever htey are called in your neck of the woods) and sprinkle on top and pretty cookies you will have. You dont' have to use cutters - if you just want round cookies, use a glass or a biscuit cutter or a jar lid! These make great sandwich cookies too! Or Ice cream sandwich cookies
