Have you ever or would you ever do a project for your child last minute to help them out? My son is in 6th grade and skipped to 8th grade Math, Reading, and Language Arts and he has a huge load of homework every night. So I helped (and I did just help) but I really just wanted to do it for him. He's just so tried with all the work. What would you do?

hi dncmanning.
i think i will also do the same thing. as long as it is just helping. i will not do all his works. i'll just assist him with whatever he is doing. its the best thing i can do.
take care

It's nice to know that I'm not the only parent out there that can't stand to see how tried they get from all the work. He literally has work in all his subjects every night- he's a Straight A student but how much do they really expect from an 11 year old. It just seems to be too much.

I would help, but I wouldn't do it for him. Then he won't learn, which is the point of the project. My main question is if he has too much work already, why is he bothering with extra credit? If he's been accelerated, he shouldn't be behind in the work. Perhaps he's to far ahead.

He is a straight A student and takes on these projects for the just in case- he is a complete over-achiver like his mom (that would be me). But often the work is geared toward extra points on a test and that's why he takes it on.
He does learn from them- a lot actually. It just seems at times that the regular work load is so heavy. thanks for responding.
