I am begining to take calcium suplement in hopes to get rid of a knee problem that bugs me to no end.
I started yesterday and woke up feeling better.
Today is the second day, I am wondering should I take my vitamins all at once? Or with each meal (I have to take two, and yes, that is the photo of the calcium tablets that I bought) or should I take them at the same time (they are chewable)
Do you take Calcium suplement?

I do take calcium supplements mostly because I am lactose intolerant.

I take calcium supplements (sometimes, I'm not too good about taking my vitamins like a should XD) Be forewarned though, If there is a lot of sugar in your system, like from candies, or sodas, or whatever you body has a harder time taking in that calcium, and takes in almost none of it. so yeah :D hope your knee gets all better :D

Thank you for letting me about the sodas and candies, I am willing to cut the sodas off my life, I need to walk more I guess.
I am afraid of having bad knees and thanks for the good wishes.
I believe that taking your vitamins at the same time helps (with breakfast is best I think) and you won't forget.

i take calcium supplements too. Mine say to take 3 times a day. i take them at breakfast, lunch, and supper. for twice a day, i would take it at breakfast and supper. i heard it's best to spread them out throughout the day and not to have them all at the same time.

I'm not sure what kind of problem you have with your knee. But i have bursitis in my hip and shoulder which is very painful. it is where the bursa near the joint gets inflammed and gives very painful joint pain. i started taking Omega-3 pills (which you can find in the vitamin section at any drugstore or grocery store). no amount of medication was helping the pain. Since take the Omega-3's the pain is at least tolerable. It has helped tremendously. I take 3 of them a day

I feel a pressure on my knee when I am walking, and saddly I have an injured knee and for whatever reasons I am not having a problem with my injured knee but with the one that is supposed to be ok.
I will look into omega but today my knee is feeling better.
I will take one with breakfast (done already) and the other with dinner.
I hope you can manage your pain better.

Hi Shelly, I take Xcal, calcium tablets as a preventative really to oesteoporisis later in life. I am pleased to hear that you are feeling better already. I used to take three a day with each meal so I would perhaps take one with each meal with these. What does it say on the instructions? Huggles. Ellie :D

The directions are to take one table twice per day with food.
I am going to do that, last night I took them with a snack (I got both of them actually) but I will take one with a meal today, breakfast and lunch.

p.s I think Xcal rings a bell for me but i am not sure.

I have heard and my grandmother swears by glucosamine and chondriotin supplements. I did not feel any better when I took them.

I have never tried calcium pills for knee or joint problems, it may be worth a shot.

I take the glucosamine and I too would swear by it, it has helped my poor joints tremendously. The only bad part is that the pills are so large and there are three of them to take. Sometimes I have a little trouble with that but it is certainly worth it thumbup I really think Shelly should take them too, but she is reluctant to give them a try. Maybe she's afraid of the pill size lol

It is truth, Frank told me to take them but it is not pain right now, it is a discomfort, I want to take care of it with calcium and see if it goes away first.
I think glucosamine should be my last resort, but thanks for the advice.

I don't take Calcium supplement, but I do take a multi-vitamin. Well, when I remember to take it. It is made for women and has extra calcium in it. I do feel a lot better and more energized when I take vitamins, I can just hardly ever remember to take them.

I also take one at day for women, but I think I need extra calcium.
My tip will be to always take your multivitamin with your first meal (or breakfast) it creates a habit and you will not forget.

if you have knee problem i think u are lack of potasium too so i think you you have to consult doctor first so you will know what illness you have and the doctor will recommend you something for.

by the way, yes i take calcium vitamins as i am known to be lack of it.

I do not have insurance, I will hold out for Dr untill I feel that I have to as I will probably have to do some research on it.
Lack of potasium was something that I did not thought of it, I have not had bananas in some time.
Thanks for the advice and If I feel I have to I will see the Dr, any doctor I guess.

I take calcium supplements and fish oil. Yes avoid the sugar as it also contributes to your problem. Also try taking fish oil, it helps a great deal with the joint pain aling with the glucosamine.

Thanks, I am avoiding the glucosamine, but I have seen the fish oil in tablets, I will try to stay off the sweets. I am hoping it will help me, if I have to take the glucosamine I will but I am hoping that it will go away with extra calcium and exercise.

I've never taken any calcium supplements, ShellyB. We have Centrum Multivitamins but I rarely pop one into my mouth. I used to take iron pills when I was much younger. I don't really know if you're supposed to take these supplements by themselves or with other medications but you can always check the directions to be sure. I hope your knee feels better.

It is feeling better, I am happy about that. I was thinking that I need exercise that concentrates on my knee, that I need maybe more calcium, I am going to stay off sweets, or I will take as little as I can as I have a sweet tooth.
I will advice to take multivitamins, they can be a lot of good for you, I know we in general do not seem to eat a balanced meal.
