I have to be honest here I tend to search out the bad in a person first, I know that sounds terrible and shallow but when you've been on a rocky road in your past you start to become wary of people and look for their motives and any goodness seems to fade in the background, you are looking for the tell tale signs of cruelty, manipulation, abusive tones, aggression and when you've been in an abusive relationship in the past it's very hard to look for good in people. My judgement is cloudy, I probably find it easier to find good in people online rather than offline if that makes sense my friend?

That is you wisdom because of your instincts. The instincts become much keener with experience. You are probaly able to see things very quickly because of what has happened in your life.It is smart and its self protection to be aware.Thats not a bad thing, it makes you a good judge of character!

Thank you my friend and yes that is a wonderful way of looking at it! Strangely enough I met someone on Saturday but after an hour I was able to sus them out completely and I took it no further, lucky escape! The saying goes I'd rather be alone than in bad company. Another way of looking at it, if you reverse what he says, everyone has a little bad in them, some are cunning and can easily hide it from others, those are the ones to avoid!

The wisdom that we ,aquire on our own from experience stays with us more then any words for someone ever will. SOME OF OUR EXPERIENCES MAY HAVE BROUGHT US PAIN, BUT WE HAVE LEARNED FROM THAT PAIN.We are not so easily fooled after that.People can tell just from being arround us that we are not into their mind games. wE HAVE RISEN ABOVE IT!

I believe that every person has the ability to make good choices, and therefore be "good", but I don't believe everyone who can, acts upon that.
I'm terrible at making assumptions about people. Thank goodness I don't speak all of my thoughts as they come to mind, or else I'd be in a whack of trouble! When I do notice some of my negative thoughts, specifically about other people, I try to stop and think of some of the positives about that person, and focus on that. But it took me quite a few years to reach that point.
For example, there was this one mother who I would see at the school with her kids. She was always wearing clothing that was way too small for her; new clothing too... so it's not like it was something she'd fit into at one time. And I would look at her and regularly think "trailer trash". It was awful of me! Then one day, I stopped my thought pattern and focused on the positive. I thought it was fantastic that she was there at the school every morning with her kids. That her kids were on time every day, and that she was there to supervise them before the entry bell too.

Yes, I do believe that even the worse of us has some good in them. Unfortunately, it is the bad things that stand out and that is what I would first notice about somebody. It would then take some time before I could change my opinion about them and even though it is wrong, I would be more inclined to remember the bad than the good. That's just me, and I can't help how I feel.

I usually see most people as good but I do not believe that there is good in everyone. There are some people who are inherently evil.
