I put ten resumes out today, Mostly in woman's clothing stores...I do hope that something comes of this but I am going to put more out on Monday as well.

Congratulations on working during the election!
I am somewhat restrained as I do not drive and I have a special needs son and so am only looking for part time! I went to the Mall today and put out ten resumes mainly in woman's clothing stores. I'm going back out on Monday to hit some stores I missed today and hand in a couple application forms that I was given today to fill out!

Thanks, I do not drive anymore since I moved to the Toronto area and have excellent transportation. I hope you are successful with your applications. Do not get discouraged. Your expectations should be 1 interview for every 10 applications. If you don't get that increase your applications. I don't know where you live but I notice here right now there are lots of notices for help wanted in the store windows in the mall. I guess the Christmas season is coming. If you only get work for a short time don't get discouraged it will help with your resume. Good places are also the Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Lee Valley Tools and Walmart. For stocking shelves and working odd hours Shoppers Drug Mart, Rexall Pharmacy and Grocery Stores are good places. Best of luck.

I too live in the GTA...what a small world!

As for seasonal, I can't accept that and will have to stay at the grocery store where I am at present until I get something permanent as I have a special needs child and must have the income...I do not drive and so have to rely on walking or busing to get everywhere!

I also need to work somewhere where the hours are flexible and I can get at least three shifts a week would be ideal as I need to be here for my son as well and his appointments etc. I can only work between certain hours each day so that restricts me also!

I am not interested in another grocery store as I desperately need a change so am looking into clothing stores or shoe stores or maybe even a drug store or card shop! The mall would be ideal for me!

I envy you Katie! I long to be self employed!
I will be so happy to get out of the Grocery Store where I have been for over three years now and things are really getting worse there. I really hope to find a part time job that I will enjoy going to! I truly need a change of pace!

I do wish you all the best Carmela! I know once you get into a placement you will enjoy the children you work with as I loved that Job when I was in it!

Only now it is not feasible for me to do that line of work with my son's schedule and the fact that I do not drive!

I have been looking on and off for about two years now and never get anything...I have had one interview in that time that did not work out for me...I am hoping that something changes in this area soon!

Eight Clothing Stores, and two other stores have my resume though so we'll see how it goes. I am going back on Monday with a couple of Applications I was given today and to hit a couple other stores that I missed today!

Well, I have been working at a grocery store for over three years now but it is not a good environment and I need a change of pace!
I have been looking off and on for two years now and I hope that my time is soon as I really need it!

Hi Chevee!

I was working in the school system until my son was born and then my job was downsized while I was on Maternity leave and so I was forced to look when my son was nineteen months!I landed the job I have now in a grocery store but after three and half years of very unappreciated very unfulfilling work I am so unhappy and desperately need a change! I have actually been looking off and on for two years now but it is coming to a point now where it really needs to happen and so I am really going to be working at this now! I wish I could earn a living from home but I feel that is not in the cards for me right now...It would be ideal as I have a special needs son but right now I need the money and so I'l work out but I hope to find a different job...I need a change!
