Howie is going to start bring awareness to adult ADHD. He says that many people have it and don't even know it. Do you have it? Do you think he can make a difference?

I don't know about making a difference about ADHD,but my daughter has OCD and I like that he's bringing awareness to that cause as well.

Personally I think there are a lot of people who have this and do not know that they have it. I think often times this is still one of the most undiagnosed issues out there and since so many people think this is a Bad thing to have most people would never want to admit they have it even if they do. But to get the awareness out there like this is needed, and hopefully will help people being diagnosed with this that this is OK as well, and find ways to get the help they need for it as well.

Sometimes I think I might have it, be cause I find it hard to focus on any one task, and so I seldom get things done in an organized, timely way. I also can't just sit for even a short time. I always have to have something to do, and I'll read, watch tv, and talk to whoever is in the room with me all at the same time. I'm also prone to daydreaming, which I think is a symptom. I'm sure Howie can help to raise awareness, and help people in finding helpful resources, considering how popular his show is.

I think anytime someone famous talks about their afflictions it is good. It shows the un-famous people that they are not alone. I know sometimes when I am feeling some way and I do not tell someone and I find out that I am not alone in my feelings I feel better. I took a woman's empowerment class and one of the things I learned is it was OK not to have all the answers, and it is OK to change your mind. I felt so good after learning that. I thought something was wrong with me when my children would ask me all the questions they tend to ask and I did not have an answer. Like "can I have a cookie, can I, can I, can I, or why don't we" those kind of questions.

You know, I've been thinking that maybe with all these cases coming up, both adult and child, is it the norm? Maybe we just didn't realize in past decades what it was. "She's flighty" "He's fidgety" were common comments back as far as anyone can remember. Geniuses were often unstable, notoriously unable to concentrate on anything but their specialty even as a child. I wonder if we "normal" people are the exception, really, rather than the rule?

I hope he can make a difference. Not only is he ADHD.. but he also is OCD and a personality much like Monk. Deal or No Deal is very popular.. hopefully he will have a lot of influens. As for me with ADHD???? I blame it on that.. but its more due to my laziness.... lol!

I would not be surprised if I had the ADD, not so much the hyperactivity. I am afraid that it may become the disease of style, and that people will use it as an excuse for poor functioning. It is a problem for some, but not everything needs to be treated as a disease or illness.

Yes, sure, I believe he can make a difference. It just needs to be brought to the forefront and it takes a celebrity to do that sometimes. I don't believe I actually have it but sometimes I wonder. If I have anything it is ADD and not ADHD. I can't seem to just sit with nothing to do with my hands and I have often wondered if that meant I had a mild case.
