I found out that stress can cause a allergic reaction or to break out in hives. I had a case of what I thought was an allerigic reaction to washing powder. But, I guess it must have been cause from stress. I was very stressed out during that time with my Mother having a tumor removed from her thumb that got infected. I was caring for her and I was very worried that I was not taking care of her the correct way. After I got things under contraol the whelps went away. Now, they come back occasionally if I get really upset and stressed about it. What about you have you ever had the hives? I was unable to go to the doctor for a diagnosis because I do not have health insurance?

I actually did get hives one time while I was at work and I was drinking a strawberry milkshake. Hives just broke out all over my face and my face was red all over. But I think that I may have been stressed as well because this was a temporary job and my assignment was about to be over and I was going to be without work for a while.

You know that if my daughter eats strawberries then her faces starts to get red bumps on it. Not a whole lot of them but several and then they get sore and stay on her face for about 2 weeks. Hard to make go away so she doesn't eat strawberries. thank you for your response.

Hi jane, Yes I've had hives and they can come from stress or an allergic reaction. It can be very difficult to tell what it came from sometimes. Stress can cause to many different symptoms from emotional to physical. You can really make yourself physically ill from emotional stress. People don't realize how serious it can be when you get upset about things how they can make you very physically ill. And one of the ways is hives or rashes that are hard to pinpoint where they come from. The can appear and then disappear just as fast as they came and you may never know if it was an allergic reaction to something or just a nervous reaction. So it is best to try to remain calm and be aware of anything different in your environment so that you can narrow down whether it is an allergic reaction or a stress reaction although both can be serious and need medical treatment.
