They say you're only as young as you feel and today I don't feel young at all. I feel very old. My IBS is acting up due to being stressed about my daugther's doctors appointment this afternoon. She is having more test done to see if she has cervical cancer. She is 25 year old and has a 3 year old daughter. She is single and the baby's daddy is not involved in any way. Some people never feel only despite their real age. They say being active and having a positive attitued will keep you in a youthful frame of mind. How do you feel young? Or do you feel old? How do you handles stress?

Hey jane, You are going through an awful lot right now
and are under a great deal of stress. It is not that
you feel old, it is the stress of dealing with the
situation that is making you feel badly. I have IBS
and right now I am feeling badly too and I am not going
through anything even close to what you are going through.
I have some problems, but nothing compared to what you
are dealing with. It is to be expected that you are very
worried about your daughter. Hopefully she will be just
fine and then you will start feeling better too. Stress
can do alot of things to the body. It can make you feel
very worn out and tired and even sick. So don't be so
hard on yourself. No one would expect you to be feeling
yourself right now with all that's going on around you.
Just try to stay calm as possible and I know that won't
be easy, but your daughter and granddaughter need you now
and you have to be strong so try to think positive and
hopefully things will get better. I will be praying for
you and your family.

You are so right and thank you so much for your comment. You are a blessing. And as a matter of fact,I am feeling some better than I did when I left this morning. They took 3 chunks of my daughters cervix to send to pathology. We will have to wait 3 weeks to find out anything about the results. They were not able to tell her anything. Thank you for your prayers.

I went through the same thing and I was ok. So I know
exactly what she is going though. If you want to talk
to me in private email me your regular address because
mylot pm's don't work on my sending so I would have to
give you my regular email address and they don't let
you do that here.

I hope your daughter is cleared of that problem. I wake up every day feeling old. Before I was ill I used to feel and look young for my age but now I always feel about 30 to 40 years older due to pain and tiredness. I certainly cannot handle stress any more, it just makes me panic these days and my partner has to help me stay focused.

Thank you for your response. We are praying that my daughter does not have cancer. If the abnormal cells are precancerous they will still be removed. At least they believe they have gotten to it in time.

I'm 52, but I feel I am only 30 years old or even younger than that. I'm healthy..I'm in the best state of health. I can run as fast as the young people. In fact... I can even run longer than they could. Probably because I don't eat unhealthy food as they do. So they easily tire up but not me. Well...it pays to be health concious and I am so happy I am.
Regarding problems in life. I do also have my own share. My Mom just recovered from being bedridden for months. That practically made my heart bled and my pocket almost went down the drain. Now it's my sister's turn. She's been diagnosed of Cervical Cancer 1st stage and because she is not financially capable... I have to help her with the cost of expensive injections, medications and laser treatment. I have a comfortable life. I have a good job, my hubby too and we only have a son who is has already graduated and beginning with his career. I could very well continue living a comfortable life at this point in time. But no... my sister needs my help and I have to spend all my money just to help her fight cancer. It's good my husband is a very understanding and supportive husband. He himself would even give his own money when needed. The treatment is so expensive and who would help her but me! All my salaries are practically going to her. I can't even afford to go shopping for new clothes and bags as I regularly do before this happens. But through it all, through all the tears I shed not because my money is drained but because my sister is sick... I remained thankful to God for He's a faithfull God. Even if I practically have been spending all my money for my sister's medication our personal needs at home are still supplied and provided by God in His own wonderful way. I thank Him because I can help my sister, I thank him because I have a supportive husband. I thank Him because I have Him always by my side and He will answer my prayer.I know He has a purpose why my sister got ill! I know the purpose will be manifested in the life of my sister and this will eventually be for her own betterment.
So my friend, don't lose hope. If your burden turns heavy then go to God. Did not He say: "Come ye all who are heavily laden and I will give you rest."? In times of trials and storms...it is when we should move closer to God. He is the giver of strength! In everything that happens, He has a purpose. We just have to discover what the purpose is and learn to be faithful to Him as well..submit to His will. Whatever happens.... God is in control. God bless!
