Seasons and temperatures

Okay, there's amystery that asserts itself each year. Every summer, many people, including my husband get very hot and like the air conditioner set to about 65 - sometimes lower. Then wintery weather comes 'round and these same people want the heat up really high at least 70 - when in the summer they artificially lower the temperature much lower.
Now, I'm agree with my husband in the summer, I like to sleep in cool climates. But come the winter, this doesn't change. Now, I don't want to have to wear many layers, but I don't like the heat up so high I feel stifled, my skin is super dry and my sinuses compacted. This year where getting a way better humidifyer - we had a standard one last year and it wasn't very effective. Especially in a larger room.
So what do you think? I figure it must be psychological, but can't be sure. Are you like this with your air conditining/swamp cooler or your heat? All I can say is that its lucky our utilities are included!

I am like you, I like it cool all year round. When it is summer, I like the A.C. set at 70 but when it is winter, I like it at 74 or so. I don't mind being cold but if I get too hot I get sick.

THat is a mystery. Like why does 40 degrees in the spring feel warm and 40 in the fall feel so cold? I usually like my house not real cool in the summer....I don't like to freeze. But in the winter it's usually just about the same setting....right now around 67....but I have felt cold ever since the first cold snap hit up here!

I like summer better than winter because I'm so afraid of cold weather, I can stand hot weather. You are right, if we use the heater our skin will be very dry, it's not comfortable, and we don't like to wear many layers. The best thing I want to do in winter is to go to some intertropical country for travel, it's really enjoyable!

I can understand being afraid of cold weather. Extreme temperatures (hot and cold) can be dangerous. As can ice storms, avalanches and other winter dangers. I hate wearing layers and then still being cold! I hate hot weather, but there is something about being near the equater (only once) that was so perfect, like the sun wasinside of me.
