Is anyone taking advantage of the all time low prices in the US stock market? |
| |
| I'm just wondering if anyone else out there is taking advantage of the downturn in the stockmarket. There are some very sound investments to be made right now. If you have always been afraid to get in to the stock market, but always wanted to, now is the time! If you have some income to invest, no matter how small it may be, get in to the market. This market will rebound, why not make some huge money when it does? Is anyone out there taking advantage of this current situation? | | | | | |

| | I have seriously been thinking about it, but I have no idea where to start. Do you have any tips on where I should invest? | | | | | | |

| | Well, if you mean, where do you go to invest your money, then I would recommend Etrade. I use the service and its a great place to use. They have no limit to your balance unlike most brokers. Also, its free to sign up and they always have great services and promotions going on. If you plan to invest soon with Etrade, I would suggest signing up with them ASAP because you must wait 10 days before buying any very inexpensive stocks and it seems like most of them are low $ stocks right now. IF you need advice on which stocks to buy, I strongly suggest looking in to a man named Jim Cramer. Just google him and find his website or watch his show on CNBC called mad money. He is a wealth of information and always comes out on top. ALso, think about buying stocks in companies that have been around a long time that you think have good staying power. Just about everything is a good deal right now so don't be afraid to jump in. Some good solid consistent earners are things that people will always need no matter what. Kellog is always great. Companies like Johnson and Johnson, etc. Just spend some time doing a little research online and you'll be on your way in no time. Good luck! | | | |

| | The downturn in the stock market is reflection of the terrific recessionary trend that has devoured the U.S.A economy and the worse is yet to come. This is a most unsafe and uncertain period for investment though blue chip stocks are available at the rock bottom prices. It is wise to wait and watch till any clarity emerges about the real situation and till the confidence builds up among the investing community. Thanks. | | | | | | |

| | Well, I respectfully disagree. To me, there couldn't be a better time to get in to the market. With the prices on consistent stocks being so low, if you can wait maybe 5 years for your money, you stand to make a considerable profit. Like you said though, it is risky, but I believe that the potential payout is worth the risk. | | | |

I have to agree with thirdmillion, this is the best time to invest on stocks, because when prices raise up, you can sell them for profit. And of course clarity emerges through some time, so it's risky, but profitable if the iron is struck at the right time. | | | |

| | I wanted to, but sadly I have insufficient amounts to earn more...that's my poor reality. Really. If only I have a big amount in my pocket then maybe I will. I was seriously thinking of doing that because if the US proved to be strong again, then you're right, the market will rebound and stocks will shoot prices like skyrockets...It's like, kabaam! Thanks for sharing the insight. Have a nice day. | | | | | | |

| | Thanks for the comment. Remember, stocks are very low right now. I recently bought in to FORD, a company that has tremendous staying power that is very likely to rebound strong in the next 5 years. I paid $2.08 per share. Thats very little to invest and with a company like Etrade, they have no minimums so you can buy a share or two at a time if you wish. Just a thought. :) | | | |

| | Oh man that's way dropped down! Nice, after the recession that would definitely shoot up. FORD, a really good choice man, no wonder you're rich...and how can I pay for stocks? Are they accepting Alertpay? Just a thought, because that's the only payment processor I have funds right now. Have a nice day. | | | |

| | I'm not sure if they accept alertpay or not, but they will take a check or money order through the mail. | | | |

| | Not yet, but I'm hoping I'll have saved up enough money from online earning by next spring to start investing. This is going to be a bad recession, so I imagine a lot of shares prices will still be depressed by that time. My idea is to invest in companies that are stable, as a long-term investment. A lot of big businesses that have been around for decades (chain stores and suchlike) should be able to weather the recession OK. | | | | | | |

| | Good choices, and yes, much of the economy will be as bad or worse by then. This downturn may take several months to a few years to fully rebound so most of these investments are going to be long-term. There are some that are very low priced that you could buy now and sell on an up day, but for the most part I'd be looking at long term investments like the ones you suggested. | | | |

| | The downturn of the U.S. stockmarket has affected us in Sweden aswell. It has been a very weird and intimidating month so far so I have no dared to get into the stockmarket yet, but Im about to because it is as you said the time for it. Im a poor student at the moment so I have precious little to spare, but I'm definatly going to take whatever advantage I can out of this situation. | | | | | | |

| | I'm glad to hear that you plan on taking advantage of it. You may not have much to invest now, but these prices will stay low for a while. Start out with what you can, and add to it as you are able. Just let it stay there for a while. You will be glad you did. | | | |
