Neo-nazi plot to assassinate Obama busted  |

 "Two white supremacists allegedly plotted to go on a national killing spree, shooting and decapitating black people and ultimately targeting Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, federal authorities said Monday.
In all, the two men whom officials describe as neo-Nazi skinheads planned to kill 88 people — 14 by beheading, according to documents unsealed in U.S. District Court in Jackson, Tenn. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.
The spree, which initially targeted an unidentified predominantly African-American school, was to end with the two men driving toward Obama, "shooting at him from the windows," the court documents show." -- http://ap.google.com/arti...

I heard it was going to be 88 black people and 14 "non-whites". Absolutely unforgivable.
Can you imagine the heart ache and the pain in our country if someone were to assassinate Barack Obama? It doesn't matter who you vote for, it would be crushing to the American people. I am old enough to barely remember when JFK was killed, and I remember better when MLK, Robert Kennedy were killed.
It is scary to think these kinds of people can be living here right beside us.

 chameleonsdream (809) | 1 year ago |  One of the things I find interesting is how much of the coverage of this assassination plot has been focused on how ridiculous their plans were - something even about wearing white tuxedos and top hats - and their chances of succeeding (very poor). Who would have guessed that a guy obsessed with Jodi Foster would manage to get a shot in at President Reagan? I mean, isn't that froot loops? But it worked. By making them ridiculous instead of labeling them for what they were - dangerously unstable young men fed on hate to believe that they could kill because they are RIGHT - and yes, terrorists - we minimalize the danger and breathe a sigh of relief.

Their hands are dirty, too. Sometimes I look around at the myLot wingnuts and wonder how many of them are white supremacists.
It IS always the people talking most about unity that become targets. I have never understood it and never will.

My next fear is that once he gets into office there is be several more attempts or plots on his life. It is horrible, and sad.
Granted there are still a great number of racist people within out society, but I think it is obvious there is a larger number of people who are more accepting of all races and support one another. How can you be in this country and forget that majority rules in a democracy?
I am seriously worried for the safety of or Presidental elect.
