Dry skin help |
| |
| This is the time of year. My skin gets all dried out. I can put lotion on and an hour later it is dry and itchy again. What kind of lotion do you use for dry skin? Does it keep your skin soft all day? I have even used the stuff that is supposed to be for extra dry skin and last all day, but still dry skin. Help? | | | | | |

| | Try this: when you get out of the shower, leave your skin a little damp and apply baby oil, in small amounts to your skin. This should lock in moisture into your skin. | | | | | | |

| | I get this product from Avon. It is called Skin So Soft. And it works great. I use it for me and my daughter. She has sensitive skin. It not only keeps the itchys away, it keeps bugs off in summer too. | | | | | | |

| | Try using a moisturizing lotion with shea butter in it. It is good to use right after showering as it locks the moisture into your skin. There are many brands and varieties available just read the label to be sure it contains shea butter. | | | | | | |

| | There's lots of good lotions to try but if they don't seem to help maybe try changing your soap to something with few ingredients, or you could possibly benefit from installing a humidifier to put some moisture in the air. | | | | | | |

| | I use cocoa butter lotion and skin-so-soft by Avon. I think the skin-so-soft usually keeps my skin soft all day. I use lotions daily and year round though so that may make a difference too. My hands seem to never be soft and/or moist, I always have dry hands. Neutrogena has good lotions also but they tend to keep your skin greasy feeling. | | | | | | |

| | I hate that greasy feeling that some lotions leave your skin with. | | | |

| | Me too but I've found that with severely dry skin they seem to be the only ones that help. | | | |

| | Add some Skin So soft from avon to your bath water you can add bubbles too if you want but if you put the Skin-SO-Soft in your water it will make a diffence. Also if you want to go another route you can take a flaxseed supplement once a day it helps a lot. Hope this helps. | | | | | | |

| | I have a bottle of the Avon SSS and it works well but makes the bath a bit slippery so I tried the bath oil they have in a spray bottle and spray it on after my bath and rub in a bit and pat dry. works great nothing something my hubby will use and he also suffers from dry skin so maybe the flaxseed thing will work for him although he works outside as a carpenter so he is always having dry skin and rough cracked hands. | | | |

| | It sounds gross but this is what I do. I shower at night with aveeno body wash in warm water-not hot. I then put virgin olive oil on while i am still wet. I pat dry and go to bed. I then get up in the am--depending on how bad the hair is, and skip the shower. I just rub my regular lotion on--baby lotion is the bomb! I repeat for one week straight. I stay out of the "dry heat" or "dry cold" as much as I can, and drink lots of fruit juices and gatorade--I don't like water. It helps out bunches and since I have eczema this is a relief. If I am going somewhere that night I skip the olive oil and baby oil it instead--you get a nice sheen to your skin and the new scents they come out with are nice too!! Good luck! | | | | | | |

| | We deal with this every year we have tried alot of different lotions and some work awhile then stop. Have you tried the Avon Skin so soft spray body oil my grandmother loved that stuff. You bath and spray it on after and then rub it in and I guess pat dry. I bought some and it worked for me when I use it, | | | | | | |

| | More than half of older adults suffer from dry itchy skin. Your skin becomes even drier when humidity is lower in the winter and in dry climates. To combat dry, itchy skin, try these dry skin help tips: Avoid using harsh soaps, which are very drying to skin. Use mild, defatted or glycerin soaps. Stay away from antibacterial and deodorant soaps. Not only are they very drying to the skin and can clog pores, they leave a soap film and over-use of any antibacterial product will eventually not be effective | | | | | | |
