Do you like it when people paint their "puntod" (resting place) other color?  

times have changed for sure. i guess tho whatever they choose they have a good reason for doing it. the different ones catch your eye for sure & maybe that's what they wanted to do.

I think it is a pantheon. According to merriam-webster Pantheon is a building serving as a burial place of or containing memorials for the famous dead of the nation. It is just their discretion. But for me i'd rather have a simple color pantheon.
By the way, maybe it's the favorite color of the dead relative.

CHANGE is not bad at all. They are just expressing their creativity through it.

didnt you noticed? the whole 11 months, cementeries are all black and white? only on november, they become colorful. maybe the dead also want to have their resting place colorful.

The word you're looking for is TOMB. I find it weird too to see tombs painted in pastels. I dunno where this started. But I have a friend who painted his mother's tomb in skyblue 5 years ago because he didn't have enough time to buy a white paint and so he used the can of paint from his garage.

Hi pehpot. Like our Filipino terms, there are also different English terms for the resting place of our dead loved ones: the most common English equivalents would be tomb, crypt, or simply a grave. I would like to have a different color for the tombs of my loved ones. Times are changing and we could also try a different color for their resting places aside from the monochromatic gray or white colored tombs.

I think the word you are looking for is head stone or grave stone. I have not seen any in England but that is not to say that they don't exist. I dare say it would be easier to find the grave you are looking for if it is coloured. I don't think the 'fashion' of it has come to England yet but think it would be that long!

I think it is just okay, as long they just paint their own . A few hours ago, I was also watching a news on TV and they are already covering some situations in the cemetery in Metro Manila. I saw some tombs painted with pink, green and orange. Wow! That's something to look forward to this coming November 1st! Maybe, some people think that black, grey and white are quite boring this these days. Or maybe, they want to lighten up the mood in the cemetery.

are you talking about that plaster that goes over graves?
i've seen that in old southwest graves,but you're right,there really isn't a word in english-because once someone's buried,all we can do pretty much is plant flowers-we're not allowed to plaster or paint it.
but yes,when it's fresh it's very pretty.

hello, nice to be back again, well puntod in english means grave. well mostly they painted it white or dirty white, some are black but even black i dont like it.maybe the person who died her or his favorate color is blue or purlpe we never know hehhehe.
