Poor baby has a fever

My daughter has been feeling just fine lately, but yesterday after noon she started getting a fever. Nothing else seems to be wrong with her. I gave her some Motrin and she cooled off right away, but now her fever is back. It is not really high, but it is there none the less. Do your kids ever get a fever and nothing else seems wrong with them? Anybody have a sick kid right now?

My son gets the odd fever now and then without having anything else happen to him. I usually give him some medicine to help with the fever. If it gets worse overnight or if the fever doesn't break then I get him checked out. He is home today, second time round with the flu. He wasn't well Saturday afternoon, vomited and then had a high fever. Kept him home all day Sunday and today. His nose is blocked and he is feeling better.

Thanks lilybug. I have to get him the flu shot and hopefully that will be enough to keep the flu away for good.

Hers lasted for 2 days. Nothing else just the fever. I hope your son gets better soon. Having a sick kid is no fun at all.

How old is she? is it possible that she is teething? Until it gets real high, I don't see a reason to worry. My middle daughter used to get fevers sometimes when she would play too much or get upset, but a little motrin would take it right down. Unless the motrin doesn't take care of the fever right away, or it spikes and she shows other symtoms I wouldn't be too concerned about it just yet. You are doing the right thing!

She is almost 2 years old. She has all of her baby teeth except for her very back molars and I don't think she should be getting those yet.

It is possible that she is getting them. I know from when my kids were little when they got their back teeth (they got them at different times) They didn't have the "normal" teething signs. My oldest started getting them in a 19 months old, my middle daughter started at 26 months and my son didn't seem to stop teething till all of his teeth were in. They would run a slight fever, give them mortin and they were fine. All babies don't develop at the same rate and have different systoms when they have teeth comming in.

My daughter is fine today. It's not that unusual. She may be fighting off a bug or something. My daughter gets the occasional low grade fever, nothing else. It can be a bit weird.

poor baby, i hope she gets well right away...yeah my kids used to get the temperature for no reason at all, made me worry so much then, but my mom said it's just part of growing up...i know there must be a medical explanation for that, but then again, they get well pretty fast...so i hope yors will feel better soon.

The fever lasted 2 days. I never did figure out what was causing it.
