Although I live here now,I've never managed to figure out why Northern Ireland doesn't take part in the Guy Fawkes Night thing..."Fireworks night" here is usually held on Halloween instead, with big public displays..Working in the Hotel business,It's a busy night working for us-We actually had a wedding reception on the night this year! So,I didn't get to see any fireworks..We used to put on a display for the guests until there was a Licence requirement brought in a couple of years back which made it more costly, and we stopped. Enjoy the display!

Ah thanks for the info lol and the link. I responded by email and I was sort of thinking it was like our Independence Day.

Yes I find out that the fair that come into town pay for the display and make all their money back on rides and food etc as if it had been the local council who put the display on then it would not be free to go to.

I hate bonfire night, the most we will be doing is watching out of the windows in our house. The good thing is from my childrens bedrooms we can see for miles so they will see some good displays. It is too cold to go out anywhere so we will just stop in.

I love going to see firework displays. Is the 5th of November something special? Sorry in the US it really isn't. Sometimes it's election day lol

Yes here in the UK the 5th of November is when we have a bonfire celebration - it is for the day when Guy fawkes tried to burn down houses of parliament. It's a great night!
