Now it's my cat's turn. I woke up to find feathers everywhere! |
| |
| A couple of months ago, I woke up to find that my dog (Maltese) had captured a chipmunk and killed it... in my bedroom!!! This morning, I woke up because my cat was bonking me with his head. When I opened my eyes, he just sat down, purring and looking VERY contented. I got up to go to the bathroom and saw feathers all over the hallway! No bird, just feathers. Okay, some of them were clumped together because there was still some skin attached, but there was no sign of bird guts, legs, head, bones, anything! Just feathers. My cat came out into the hallway and laid down beside all the feathers, looking up at me and purring so contentedly! LOL I'm just happy that I didn't have to see parts of bird everywhere! Has your cat or dog ever done something like this INSIDE your home? How did they act if they did? I'd love to hear your stories. | | | | | |

| | HEHEHEHE, You silly silly silly GIRL, you know about the CAT THAT ATE THE CANARY. if you don't it live at your place, All CAT'S have iron guts' Them things can eat anything that is called alive, they dont care, I had a cat that would tease the other birds by getting a bird and playing "Toss up and Catch" all the birds would make a hell of a racket and the CAT would wind them all up and at a point it would CHOMP the head of and let the headless monster flutter around the ground. Nasty cat, bad attitude, CAT from HELL. HICCUP/ | | | | | | |

| | OH, man! I meant to say, "I'd HATE to see a headless bird flopping around" not "I'd HAVE to..." Geesh. Changes the whole meaning! Sorry!!! | | | |

| | Nothing says "I love you" like a dead bird! Ours don't go out but last year we had mice in the house but between the four cats anything they caught was totally disposed of. When our youngest cat was a kitten he used to deposit dead spiders on our bed as a "thank you". The worst part is that my husband is totally arachnaphobic and for some reason I can handle a live spider I don't like touching dead ones. I think part of me thinks they would only be pretending to be dead and might go "boo". | | | | | | |

| | Hi diane... Boy, all this cat about cats is making me miss my late cat. He always kill rats (rats, not mice) that are about a little less than his size, and he was quite skinny. That's why we loved him so because he's so good at killing rats. Too bad he had to die this year. Happy mylotting! | | | |

| | LOL mentalward, just be grateful that it was not on your bed. I have never had an animal bring anything inside. I once had a dog that drug up a 45lb beaver. I do not know how he did it because the thing was huge and was as big as he was. He was so happy about that beaver though... LOL I guess I would have been happy as well, had I been in his paws. It was not small feat! | | | | | | |

| | Hahahaha! Nope, I'm not concerned. I've found two headless squirrels last year and have yet to find their heads! The cat either ate them, the bird included, or took them outside to play with them some more. | | | |

| | when my tabby was a kitten(shes gone now..sad) she was on my patio and stetched out her paw and pulled a blue jay out of a tree. I saved it but it did get awing hurt. I tried to carry it downstairs and it flew crocked and sideways away. I took a walk all over the neighborhood looking for it and did not find it so I thought it must be ok. The next morning a flock of blue jays wer outside in that tree squacking. I told Topaz(my beloved tabby) uh oh they are looking for you. She never bothered another bird. I miss that cat. | | | | | | |

| | Yeah, you've gotta watch those birds! They DO gang up! Bluejays can be especially nasty! I've seen them ganging up on smaller birds like sparrows and robins so they could have ALL the seeds in the feeder! I know what it's like to miss an animal. I had a black tabby a few years ago who was the best cat I've ever owned. He was such good company! But, at 16 years old, he just got worn out. I rushed him to the vet's while he was actually having a heart attack! They told me they could TRY to save him or I could have him put to sleep. I chose the latter because I didn't want him going through any more pain, but cried my eyes out once it was over. We sure can get attached to our pets, can't we? | | | |

| | Yeah, one of my Maltese babies caught a chipmunk not too long ago and shook it until it died. Luckily, I was able to get it away from her BEFORE she punctured it! Ewwwww!!! | | | |

| | oh yea - all the time at my house. Not so much the dogs-although it appears they actually finally caught one of the squirrels that have been teasing them the last few weeks- I din't see me but he told me "your dog was eating a squirrel" -I said, "did you tell her to drop it? she would have.." NO - he just let her eat it. eeew. and I picked up a half of a mouse last week.. (but -it was on the dog's bed.. hmmm _ I am sure the cat brought it in.. My momma cat last week decided I wasn't feeding her enough protein and I caught her with a half eaten squirrel on the back porch... And fought with her a few days before that over bring a mouse in the house.. I kicked her out because she wouldn't drop it and I didn't want it in my house.. lol (and that has just been the lst 2 weeks...) | | | | | | |

| | i don't have any pet at the moment... so i never experience what you experienced with your cat and dog... i used to have a dog in the past... but she is an indoor dog and we never let her out because she run to fast and we are afraid that we will lose her... but your story is very cute and at the same time make me scared... i wouldn't want to witness my cat or dog killing a chipmunk or other animals ever... i just can't stand the sight of it... take care and have a nice day... | | | | | | |

| | I am soooooooo used to finding feathers, mice heads, chimpmunk parts and sometimes worse inside and outside of my house. I live out in the country, so there is plenty for my cats to hunt...and eat. Your cat was bringing you a gift, wanting to share it with you. You should be honored he wants to share, this means he trust you. Plus he wants to feed you (LOL). Just be happy it isn't a snake, got two so far from our male cats... | | | | | | |
