Do you really see "the change" in Obama? |
|
First of all, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to America. It seems that you finally found the hope amidst the economic crisis you've experienced with the previous administration.
Now that President Barack Obama is now leading the most powerful country in the world, do you really think he can handle this kind of responsibility? Good enough that the change he's saying will be clearly seen by 305,595,000 Americans.
I know this is not the right time to be judgmental about anything but perhaps some American myLotters will contribute some useful insights about the newly elected president.

I don't think Obama will be able to dig our country out of this mess, but I think he'll do as much as is reasonable possible in his relatively short amount of time in office. Something that I think he's already done for our country is that he's mostly appreciated by the world at large. He's such a welcome change, and I look forward to the new direction he will lead us!

74. gitfiddleplayer (5119) | 1 year ago | Change? Define it. Has he changed? No, he's still the anti-American he was as a child. When you say the previous admin you mean the clintons? They are the ones who forced banks to give loans to people who couldn't afford them and that's what got us in this mess. I respect the position he has obtained but I don't respect the man. I don't see hope in him, i see an absense of hope, i see big government and big taxes. He doesn't have any experience let alone "enough" experience, this will either be the fastest four years or the slowest.

75. quinnkl (1466) | 1 year ago | As President-elect Obama said himself, until Jan 20, 2009 there is only one president in office. I really liked that line. I have high hope for him. I have said here before, I really believe he will TRY. It is gonna be hard and a long haul to fix what has been totally screwed up by the current administration. I don't envy Mr Obama that job at all. But I think he is up for it. I absolutely think he can and will handle the responsibility. Finally we Americans have spoken and gotten what we asked for!

76. suspenseful (17075) | 1 year ago | When Obama takes office, he will make changes to get America to become more socialist, and what he does will cost America more in taxes. He cannot handle the responsibility and will ask for the advice of those who agree with him. Americans will pay more for gas, and food since Obama intends to punish the coal plants by making them bankrupt. As for him being a black president, does that give an excuse to lower the American standard of living and increase unemployment for his goal? If he had not run and the Democrats won and the winner was white, would you have said congratulations? And if the winner had been A Republican, would you have congratulated America? No you would not. My point here is we have to have the same standard for the President of the United States no matter his race or his creed. We cannot make an exception for those of a certain ethnic group. You cannot blame Bush or the republicans what went wrong. The Fannie Mae and the mortgage fallout came about because the Democratic lead congress wanted the poor people and those black people to get mortgages even though they could not afford them and if that bill had not passed, there would be a cry of racism. Also this, anyone can get what they wanted started with President Johnson, who was a Democrat. And if one blames Bush for the evils of this administration, it is all right for us to blame Obama once he takes office.

78. carolscash (4886) | 1 year ago | I am so thankful that Americans looked past the racial card that was being played against Barack and chose the person who seems to have his sights set on changing the poor economy that we have due to the current President. I am looking at Barack's policies to have a great impact on the economic downfall that we are currently suffering. I believe that his "change" is going to be fantastic!

The president elect can't do it alone. He has a good, diverse team and not only has he restored hope but he's put back in people the fact that if we want change we have to be apart of that change. We got out there and voted but it can't just stop there. Young and old, we have to stay in tune with whats going on in the world. Watch the press conferences and have discussions with family and friends about if a certain law should be passed or not. We're all in this together, it is our country anyways.
