Where I live they were talking about banning road side tributes to people who have died in accidents. What is your opinion, do you think that they are a distraction? If it was your loved one that passed away from anaccident would you put a road side tribute there for them?

There started doing it a long time ago where I grew up. They do seem to be a distaction as people slow down to gawk. This causing accidents. I never tought a simple cross would be a distraction. But some people started doing bigger and bigger displays. Thus causing the distraction.

I also think that in many cases that they are a distraction, but it is also a reminder to slow down sometimes. Thanks for posting.

I don't know if I would, every time I would have to drive past that spot it would remind me enough of what happened on that day. Me personally no I would not do something like that.

Sometimes it gives the family a sense of comfort. Such memorials provide a valuable warning about the hazards of the road. I dont think they are much of distraction as people think. I'll pass one and pray something wont happen on this road again. I would part one if for my family if it happened on a road or highway.
