Yes I do understand that is was 33 years ago, but history is prove in the future. “Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people?” “A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.” “I do not believe I have proposed anything that is contrary to what has been considered Republican principle. It is at the same time the very basis of conservatism. It is time to reassert that principle and raise it to full view. And if there are those who cannot subscribe to these principles, then let them go their way.”

He was right and now the Republican party has lost its basic principal. They have fallen to the attacks of the Democrats and the far left who insulted them for being morality driven and Christian based right wing and have now tried to please those people. So the Republican party has to be back to a party that represents the traditional values of America and not that of the people who want everything now, want no one to scold them, and want no one to say this or that is wrong and want to get handed everything on a silver platter.

Yes Reagan was right and so too are you right. Republican have lost because they have lost their principals.

And then the neocons came, and the conservative party was no longer distinguishable from the socialist party that it opposes. The conservatives must take back the republican party, and they must hold onto conservative values if they are to survive. The conservatives should see this as an opportunity to return to our conservative roots, and to stand above the crowd who would reach across the aisle and compromise what we stand for merely for the sake of unity. McCain was NOT a conservative, he was more liberal than anything, although the liberals deny that. That is why McCain did not have the support of the conservatives, because he was not one of us and did not represent our values. If the republicans return to their conservative roots, then they can be a viable force to be reckoned with, if they continue to try to be like the socialists, then they never will.

Neocons have done more harm to what Reagan created then anything Democrats could have done. if they continue to try to be like the socialists, then they never will, well neither should they. If America wants socialism then America will vote Democrat not for the Democrat lite Republican party.

The think the last eight years of conservative and Bush bashing by the media has affected the Republican party. It's almost like they are ashamed of being Conservative!
