Can eating the right or wrong things really make a difference with Alzheimer's?

As some of you may know, I love one particular site that I find quite interesting and informative for health and other issues. Here is another article that I read today, http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2008/11/08/what-you-eat-could-raise-your-risk-of-alzheimer-s.aspx, that says what I have learned on other sites and in books, too, so I tend to agree with what he says. What about you?

This is another good one, nanajanet.
• Eat plenty of high-quality omega-3 krill
Can I ask you what you do for getting more of this in your diet? Hearing some much concern with mercury levels with fish.
Do you take supplements for it?

We try to eat more oily fish but cannot get enough so I buy the krill oil pills and have regular fish oil, too, in case I run out. I also eat flaxseed in my oatmeal.

That's a good idea, flaxseed oil in oatmeal.

I know very little about Alzheimer's nanajanet but I do recall reading similar articles some time ago and oily fish with Omega 3 oils are apparently foods that are supposed to be of benefit, yes. I have also read comments stating that products and foods that have traces of aluminium (hydroxides I think it was) are apparently not optimal as well. This was some time ago that I read these references so I am not sure how accurate this information may be today.

Aluminum is bad. It is in anti-perspirants, vaccines, and is not good to cook with, either. We only use stainless steel or glass cookware and will not use aluminum at all. It is also linked to cancer and autism.

Thanks for the link. There is a lot of interesting information.
If you have read the book about good and bad fats written by Dr Joaquin Gonzales Aragon, you have seen that it talks about the same things, and he says that lack of Omega3 can cause
- not only Alzheimer´s Disease but also dementia, ADHD, and many more brain problems - even schizofrenia and depression can be caused by wrong fats..
I am taking salmon oil every day, and it is clean from mercury and other dangerous stuff that can be found in fish from polluted places.
I take it together with other food supplements from www.gnld.com and I think my memory and imagination are much better now. - And so is my health..!!

I've heard about studies, and read quite a few articles linking artificial sweeteners to Alzheimer's Disease. It might be hard for people to give them up considering diet soda is one of the most popular ways people intake artificial sweeteners. Non diet soda isn't exactly healthy, but the artificial sweeteners do a lot of damage. I'd like to be able to say away from both diet, and non diet soda.
