The importance of Voter Registration

In Minnesota they are finding out just what part fraudulent Voter Registration can play in an election. In the Senate race they are having a recount and guess what in one county they suddenly found 100 votes all for one candidate. In another county one worked forgot to turn in some absentee ballots that she just happen to find in her car. How it works is you register several people in your area and list their address and include a PO Box. Then you vote the ballots and hold them to see if you need them on election day. On a larger scale some Political machines will find store rooms that have bags of ballots that were forgotten on election day. In some communities the people who registered voters were also the poll workers so they were in position to accept the fraudulent votes. In another state there were 56,000 voters that requested absentee ballots because the moved to the south for the winter. Many of them were also registered in that state too. We need a national voter ID card that states what state and precincts you will vote in and it must have a photo of you. You could use a drivers license or state issued ID at no charge if you can not afford it. I have to show photo ID every time I cash a check so why not when I vote?

There must be different rules in different states. Here you have to show your driver's license or another form of identification. My husband showed his and the lady was so busy chatting with somebody else in line (she was form the neighborhood) that she forgot to check off he had provided his DL as ID. No biggie until there is a recount. I fully agree people need a voter identification card that states where they are allowed to vote. They can have a state and national oversight to make sure that people are not registered with the same SSN in different areas. In this time and age that should be possible.

In my state I had to show my DL when I registered but Acorn registered me then all they have to do is check a box saying they saw my DL. I was talking to a friend and they suggest that we get the purple finger. Then those who don't have the purple finger should not be allowed to complain.

I agree... we need valid and checkable ID's for everyone who votes, and we need verifiable and valid birth certificates for every presidential candidate, and not something that is sealed from access that the person who removed access claims is valid and we should just take their word for it.

There is also a need for tighter controls on voter registration. People should have to register with a state employee and have time to check out each registration. If we don't protect the voting process we will lose our freedoms next.

We are in very real danger of that happening as soon as 0bama takes over. They are already talking about bringing back the Fairness Doctrine, which is nothing more than an attempt to silence the conservatives... and 0bama has made mention of new regulations in it's place in order to stifle free speech a bit more subtly. If he does even a fraction of the things that he has talked about, then there are going to be a lot of jobs lost.... and the cost of energy is going to skyrocket. His plans will completely destroy our economy and our way of life will change too. For everyone who thinks we should be more like Europe and their brand of socialism, they may have a first hand look at what's wrong with that. Everyone can expect a tax increase, no matter what promises ere made. All that has to be done is let the Bush tax cuts expire, and when you figure in inflation and the cost of living since they were implemented, the increase will be more than the cuts were to begin with. His excuse will be something like him having no choice because of the failed Bush economic policy, or some such similar nonsense.

Everytime I vote I have to show a picture ID must be a state thing. A national voter ID wouldn't be a bad thing but, I would have to be against anyone paying for it. It would sort of go back to poll taxes. But, you have a good idea.

I think it is the way to go and the state should provide free ID's for those who can't afford it.
