TODAY IS NOVEMBER 11.is it important to you?

It is Veteran's Day in the United States, but it is not as important to me as the day before it. November 10th is my wedding anniversary. I have been married 19 years now. I had never ever heard of your festival in China before you just now mentioned it.

November 11 is just an ordinary day for me. There is no special event here in the Philippines for November 11. Well none that I know of.

It is also now that I knew that 11.11 is single festival in China. Happy singles day to you then! How do you celebrate it?

I also don't know that its memorial day for WWI and WW2. I guess I have to recap my memories about histories hehe. This is one of the things I love here in mylot. I get to learn about other countries. By the way, I am single too!

Now that you mentioned it, yes, November 11 is important to me. This day last year, my boyfriend surprised me by coming home to the Philippines for a vacation after almost 10 years abroad. The only reason why he came home was because we became an official couple just 5 days earlier (November 6) and he wanted to see me after more than 15 years! See, my boyfriend and I were schoolmates back in highschool but we last saw each other in 1992! So you can just imagine how important November 11 is for us, apart from November 6. Incidentally, we just celebrated our first year together, although apart.

Single festival huh? I need to tell both of my daughters about that one.:)
Here in the US it is Veterans Day. The day has been set aside to honor all veterans who have served our country. Many people get it confused with Memorial Day. That's a day set aside to honor all who have died while Veterans Day honors all who are living or dead. It's also mistakenly taken to honor veterans of only a specific war. That's not the case. I wrote an article for another site. In doing research for that I looked up Veterans Day on the US Dept. of Veterans Affairs website to be sure. There, they had excellent information on the day from when and how it started to links of celebrations thoughout the US. You could download posters and everything. Pretty cool.

It is Veteran's Day in the United States today.. My son is out of school today for this day. So, I guess other places like banks could be closed today as well. I believe that this day is very important because it honors all of the soldiers whom fought to keep our country alive. I salute them all! Some have lost their lives doing this, and for that they are greatly honored and saluted!

Its veteran's Day here in the US. The day to honor the soldiers who fought during the war. There will be parades and some ceemonies for sure.

Its not that important to me but since it is a holiday so it will give me more time to rest.
