Do you shut down your cell phone when you sleep at night?

no yar. I will not shutdown my mobile phone but rather than keep it in vibration So thst i can see who has given me call

no my phone is on 24/7 all day long. And it is my alarm clock so I must leave it on while I sleep because it wakes me up. but you are right- I leave it on for an emergencies- because I no longer hear my home phone. it rings so much with solicitors that I ignore and now I no longer pay attention to it when it rings!

I used to turn it off a few years back, but then one time while I was sleeping, my mom's good friend called me because she was panicking because her son got stabbed on the back, I was able to tell my father (who's a medical professional) about it and he instantly went to see him.

That was because she was too shocked to dial another number and surprisingly she saw my number first in her phonebook.

So, ever since that incident, I no longer turn off my phone. It's better to be disturbed during the night than to fail to help someone in need or in an emergency because you turned your phone off because you were sleeping.

Plus, people I know and are in my phone book have the ethics not to bother me when it's already late at night. So, I rarely get nuisance calls or messages anyhow. So, it's best to turn it on.

Plus, you never know, what if thieves come and your landline was cut and your cellphone is far out of reach? Well, that's an incident that could happen.

My cellphone is on all the time and all night because I use the cellphone alarm to wake up early in the morning.
My office pays me a little money and believe they own my cellphone time and insist that it stay on all hours just in case.

I never shut down my cell phone when I'm sleeping at night or anytime of the day. For I'll never know who will call me up, might be work related that needs my immediate attention or decision or from my boss following up for something. Or an emergency from a relative, friend and family.

for me,a good sleep is the primiss to do work well.if the boss calls me to do somethings when i have fall asleep,i think i will not to do this job.so sure,i will shut down my cell phone when i sleep without hesitating even one second.on the other hand,i dont like anyone to bother me when i enjoy my sweet dream.

Yes. I always shut down my cell-phone when it is time to sleep. I am not sure about the radiation angle though. I just feel that sleep-time is for sleeping in and I don't want to be disturbed. If there is a family emergency, I have a private land-line that only my family has the number of.

I dont shut it down at night. I would just set it on a table about 1-3 meters away from me.

Personally I think that I always shut down my cell phone at night because I have almost always found the phone calls I receive when I am sleeping are not important and besides most things can wait until the morning.
The world isn't going to end because your cell phone is off while you sleep.
And besides then you get yourself a good nights rest and wake up in the morning refreshed.

yes, what you say is right... this is a bothersome issue. usually i don't switch my mobile off during my sleep hours.
