Of course not, especially is the stove in not turned on. What you ever put something on the stove to cook, then come back only to realize that you did not turn the burner on? I did that this morning, I was boiling water and came back later to check on it, it was not boiling, then I realized that I had not turned on the burner. Have you ever done this?

hi sudalunts this happens to me many times especially with the rice cooker, i will assumed that i have actually switched on the cooker, but i see that there has been no bubbly sound and when i turn back it is not on ... My husband is worst, he has already burned 4 pots of mine because he forgot that he had the pot on the stove ... finally i had to buy him electric kettle for him to boil his water ... cheers

Hi sudalunts! I have done this a couple of times. I put the kettle and didn't realize that I did not turn the stove on and when I'm going to make coffee the water still cold, lol. Another time is the rice cooker and forget to switch on and just found out when we're about to eat.
