Some of the teachers care (until it's beaten out of them lol) but I'm not sure how much the school district does. Still it's much better here than it was in Los Angeles, that's for sure!

Perhaps it´s more easy for your son to learn things,in a peaceful area,only with an assistent beside him

Sometimes it is easier for him. The teacher can't always slow things down just for him.

It can´t be easy to be a teacher today.
And it can´t be easy to be a pupil today.
I think many children today have problem to learn things.
Beacuse everything shall go so fast,no time at all to slow down for some minutes

and TONS of homework!!! I don't even remember having any homework at their age!

Here in sweden,I think most of the children begin around 8 o´clock and stop around 3 or 4 in the afternoon.
When i was a child,we went to school on Saturdays

Yes,it´s long days for the school children.
Especially if they have a lot of homework.
I understand that too many of them are tired of the school

But in Sweden,many of the children have been at least 5-6 hour a day in the kindergarten.
In my opinion,it a shame to live your children for so many hours every day.
If both the parents are working,it is probrably not necessary that both of them are working fulltime

Well there's always day care. Some parents can't afford for both not to work, I guess.

That's true! There is a reason that my daughter is homeschooled. Even trying to get the school involved sometimes is a nightmare depending on the school itself.

Very good point. My daughter is so fed up with it when she turns 16 in january she is going to withdrawl from the school system entirely and just get her GED so she can go on with her life.

You can get a lawyer to fight that sort of thing because there is an IEP process that schools must follow to make sure that children recieve the help that they need in a timely manner. It's also important to remember that you can call an IEP meeting anytime you want, every week if you want to make sure your child is getting the help they need and deserve.

except Subha is in India, so I'm sure things are a lot different there!

We had our service coordinator from the Regional Center attend Cary's first IEP. She knew a lot more than we did and told us what to ask for. the Vice Principal of the school was not at all happy about it!

As in anything else, some teachers are better than others at that...
