One of the very common trends of today's technology is the so-called online dating among single people. Here one can find sites in the internet where it advertises singles who are looking for life or just dating partners. They soon engaged in some kinds of conversations like emails, chatting and calling. I know a lot of people who finds their partners and spouses through this kind of dating. Some were successful and some are not. I have many friends who are in other countries by now because they married w/ either americans, europeans, canadians or other races. I heard stories of successful marraiges but unfortunately there are also those who ends up regretting. Considering the fact that each are from different countries and culture, do you think such kind of relationship lasts or at least work?

As for me it is. I found my husband and soul mate online I would suggest you be very cautious and make sure you get to know the person very well. be safe... I do believe its a big risk but the outcome can be very rewarding

Well yes that's true....it seems a little risk having this kind of relationship sometimes. You don't know the person personally as its only more on chattings and emails and sometimes w/ phone calls. And if people of the same race from the same country still have problems in relating to each other in their relationships, how much would it be w/ another person whom you consider a total stranger or "allien"? However, like you, there are also couples who get along well despite their cultural differences. I guess its just more on the adjustment and adoptability of one's culture and belief and most of all love and understanding that makes up a happy and successful marraige.

Well, this all depends upon the two people in that relationship. If both of them will help each other to make the relationship work, it would really work. The common reasons why some end up regretting it's because they have high expectations, they maybe think that their lives would become great when they will marry a foreigner which is most cases did not happen. One who would decide to get married should remember that marriage is a commitment. For better of for worse, through thick and thin they must join hands to overcome it. No retreat nor surrender when time is hard. Those who are not committed, will give up easily. Good luck..

I know several people who have met their spouse/significant other through online dating sites. Some have worked out and some have not. Really I don't see it any differently than going out on a blind date with someone. Better maybe because most of the time people try to get to know each other a little better before they decide to meet when they first "meet" each other online.
