In the view that aspirin has higher propensity to cause increased gastric acid secretion & advent of useful NSAIDS those are relatively safe why do you thinkaspirin is still in so much of use???

Aspirin is very cheap and easy to produce (and is also out of proprietary 'copyright' so can be made in a generic form). I don't believe that it is still manufactured from willow bark - salicylic acid is a constituent of willow bark, so if you are out of aspirin, you could use that, at a pinch!
It still has its uses as a basic anti-inflammatory and also as a preventative against heart disease.

Maybe they still make it for those of us that like it because it works. Ibuprofin does nothing for my aches and pains, but aspirin works wonders
