Everuthing but the poo!  

What?? No poo either? I heard it makes for great fertilizer. hahaha It is a very pretty day here, sun shinning so bright but a little windy. I don't have mulching to do or soil to till or do by hand but I did go out and sit in the sun and looked at a magazine that come in the mail today.

as you know I don't do anything like that, I am looking for a new apartment without a backyard, something that I can handle.

Grandpa Bob I am all done with all my yard work untill next spring. I do not do any compost or use a tiller.

You are doing a good job of your garden already, roll on spring. I don't do that to my garden as its very small and don't need doing.

We only have a small garden and most of it is grass so any soil that needs turning and we just use a fork to turn the soil, children are a great help at this as well.

My grandfather did that but so far I can't get my husband to do it that way he thinks all we need is manure but I would like to try the compost that I would be able to make myself.

y brother used to do that but he has a tool which i am not sure what he calls it. Now, he can't do that anymore because he is so busy with his new job. That would be so taxing on your part doing it by hand but doing compost is good and we are helping our environment in a way. Happy composting!

I do not compost with a composted like you do. I do turn some weeds in to the ground but not much. I pull a lot of the weeds and put them in the waist bin.

Congratulations on getting a great looking compost. It's harder than it appears to get everything rotted down and the right texture!

I have a number of composts going at the same time. There's one down on the veg field which is all the garden waste. When it comes to the time to turn that field over I'll just drag it through and turn it in. We use a small rotovator if we're doing small patches, or hire a local guy with a large one or a tractor in if we're doing the lot.

I also keep a couple of worm bins where all the household waste goes, and that makes wonderful compost for smaller areas. The worms break it down really fast.
