The Royal Family.

I am an Australian and I love the royal Family, I know in this country there are a lot of people who want for our country to become a republic, I dread this if it ever happens, I saw a documentary on TV once about the Royal Family and at the end of it, it said the Queen has only one power and that is of any of the Commonwealth countries she can stop any head of those countries from turning the army on to their own people....now i look at a lot of the countries out there that have the head taking over the army to protect his position, shooting the people who disagree and no one can do anything...i think it is a good thing to have an independent person from the elected Government to be able to step in and sack them if they go against the people or the best interests of the country in a big way....I think we are so lucky to be part of all this...i just wish people could see how good, The Queen doesn't overstep her mark, maybe she can't in most instances but when it counts she does have a power....

I say get rid.I dont like them.I never have.The Royal Family is all about England anyway so are nothing to do with me..thank goodness lol
Oh & if hear one more thing about Prince Charlie being 60,well i dont know what i will do..so he is 60 & so what..no one cares..

I live in the U.S. and I've always thought it quite romantic that England has a Royal family. I do believe, however, that until Princess Di, they were quite out of touch. IMHO, she brought humanity back to the Royals. Not too awfully impressed with the second generation but do like Prince William and Prince Harry. Tough economic times though must make you think about whether it's worth the expense.
