Did you ever have or Did you ever WANT a Chia pet?
I am in my early 40's and remember those commercials of the 70s with the catchy song and announcers voice.... kind of a mark of the era I guess, along with K-Tel records.
Weren't the Chia's basically grass seed that you grew upon a clay figure (hedgehog?) and you cut it as it got long?
Did you have any success with your chia? how long did you keep it?
When you see them available during the holiday times do you get to singing the jingle and secretly hope to receive one?

*hides face sheepishly* Yes, I too remember the Chia pet jingle of the 70's. I remember secretly wanting one while everyone else was making fun of them! I never did get one, and perhaps I will have to do that sometime soon! Now I will be singing that song for the rest of the night...thanks friend! ha!

I want one with the herbs. But my husband does not like Chia pets at all, so he is hoping I do not get one. The other alternative is those growers that cost $99 that do not need any soil. But since I am murder with houseplants, I guess I will have to stick and buy the herbs at our grocers.
However, if I get one, I will be singing the Chia pet jingle.

I've received a few Chia pets for gifts, and while at the time I thought they were fun, they always ended up being a pain in the neck. They attracted bugs I don't think I had ever seen before. It didn't seem to matter where I put it, it always had something crawling on it.

I don't secretly hope to receive one LOL, but I have wanted to buy one for my mother and mother-in-law though I never got around to doing so. Maybe this will be the year I finally do it.
