How can I convince my referrals to stay active? I have given up on my first referral that signed up four weeks ago and has never even signed in, let alone stay active. I am losing hope on my second referral I got from getref because I earned one cent from her and she says she is busy, but it could be just an excuse to not stay active here. My third and most recent referral signed up 8 hours ago, and I wonder if he/she will meet the same faith as my first referral. So my question is how do i convince my referrals to stay active?

Hi. Well, its really difficult actually to convince ur referrlas to remain acive, unless and until they are willing to spend their time here for friends and earn money sideways. U wont belive i have 6 referrals, some of them joined at the time, when i joined, and some joined later. But none of them had even posted a single response. U were lucky to earn atleast a cent from one of ur referrals. I had earned nothing from them. I have been doing along nicely on this site making 4 payouts amounting to some 44$ alone. I even showed my payment proofs to my referrals, but i think, they find it really exhausting to earn a few cents after so much of typing.
I guess, mylot will have to start some incentive schemes to attract more users.Lately, i had also been less active than i used to be. Partly because of my work and partly being active on the other site.
Well, lets hope, mylot admin listens to us and do try ur best with ur referrals.

yeah may be. Mylot needs to come out with some incenive schemes, to attract more users and retain the old ones. Many of the users i observe, remain a lot active in the initial days, posting around 40 responses in a day and after making their first payout, they leave it. Reducing the payout limit is one good idea. May be lowering the payout to 5$. and increasing the earning ration, can hit the site with more users.
Well lets see, till then all the best with ur referrals.

I agree that they should lower the payout to $5 and maybe increase referral earnings. I hope mylot makes some changes as I think I will also stay less active after I receive my first payout but not leave. I currently have $7.78 so I think I will make the minimum payout this month. If I do, I will come back after the holidays and will try to bring more referrals with me.
Let's wait and hope these changes are put into place. Also, what incentives do you think mylot could add? You should submit any ideas to mylot. You never know if they will accept or reject it. I recently submitted my idea of a IM system that we could be paid for. I hope they use my idea!

That is very sad that your referrals are inactive. I guess I was very lucky to earn one cent from my referral.
I think the only way mylot will attract new users is if they put a fixed rate on earning and lower the payout, both of which I doubt will happen soon.

Last week, I have 5 referrals. All of them are inactive. They haven't participated in any discussions.
When I got my first payout here in mylot, I instantly told them about it but I think they are still too busy with work. I tried telling a friend about the payout I've received and she was convinced to join under me here in mylot. I was happy because I've been asking her before to join but she didn't want to. Now, she is also happy lotting here. I now have one active referral.
And I am planning to have more.

I have a few referrals and all of them are not doing anything except for one person. He is the only active referral that I have to date and he had contributed 39 cents to my account after joining for 5 days.
I knew that he would be active since he asked me lots of question about myLot after he joined. I guided him on the tips and tricks of posting, update his avatar and entered his PayPal account and in return he has been active since the day he joined.
However, the sad thing is that he would be away fro about a month since he is going back to his hometown and might not be able to post anything during that time.
Anyway, I do not see there is anyway that we can do to motivate our referrals. They need to motivate themselves and they have to feel the need of being an active member here by themselves. we can just help them if they need our help. Cheers!

Have read on other discussions that to help keep your referrals active you have to tutor them through the site and really explain how it works. Once they can see the benefits they will too become as hooked as you are.
However on the plus side many members here don't have any referrals and make their own earnings so to have gained three referrals in the first place is a huge achievement here well done. I currently have no referrals but am actively looking for them...it's just finding the right person to refer who will stay active and who is willing to put the time in.

That is very helpful to hear. I will have to try that next time. I think I will show them my payment proof when I reach payout soon as I have made $6.70 and averaging 30 cents a daily, which is pretty good by my standards. I think it will convince my future referrals as well.

Yes payment proofs are always a good idea to post as these show evidence that sites payout. Well done on earning $6.70 here looks like your on track for payout this month too.

I had one that was convinced to be active here. But when I asked her she said she is still trying to be familiar with the site. Well that was 2 weeks ago, and I havent seen her posting . I have 4 more and what they just did was to sign up. I just wish they could be active.
I think i would have to do good first before i could convince them. so far, I havent received my first pay out yet. so if i could get paid this month, then they'll say it is good to be active.

I am in a similar situation but with only 3 referrals. The one that stayed active making one post and making me one cent said she was busy about a week ago and I have not seen her on since.
I am going to try that also. That is what many mylot seniors are recommending.

hello ,i am newer for mylot.so i know more what your referals(the newer for mylot) think.according to what you say,i think maybe your refferral do not know how to deal with mylot ,like how to post ,how to make friends and so on ,so you should teach them details of mylot.another case is newers are always not sure if they really would receive money from mylot with their posting work ,so you should show your payment proof of earning from mylot to your referals.this is the most important. the last is maybe your referals are really busy, you know, everyone has his own things to do,maybe after he complete his work,he will come back to mylot.hehe, hope you could like my response.

In short, you cant, all you can do is hope they will stay active. Mylot does not grab everyone in the same way it does us so its best just to let them do it as they wish
blessed be

Introduce yourself as soon as they accept your friend request. Tell them the ways that you best found to make money here on mylot and enjoy the conversations with people. Make sure to explain to them about being notified when your friend starts a conversation.
If you new referral starts a conversation respond to it, do everything you can to support them. If your referral responds to your conversation, give them a best response. I am not saying do it over and over again, just a couple times to make them feel wanted.
If your referral disappears for a couple days, send them a PM and ask if everything is OK, you noticed they have not been on. Treat them like a person and a friend and they will stay active.

Actually, for me what I do is try to let them know why mylot is the best. I tell them about the payments I got in here and What I have learned and gained...and I try to not focus on my referrals but refer as much as I can so when one doesnt have time..The other has. Good luck with you on this.

I only have one person who I have referred to MyLot and he hasn't even logged in since he joined. After the holidays I plan on getting more people to join up because I just don't have time for it now. The way I see it if some of my friends don't need any extra money then I'm not going to invite them to join because even if they don't join for the money reason I doubt they will stick around & post because they are not even that active at Myspace or other social networks. Maybe you should make a friendly email to all of you're MyLot referrals and remind them to take part and how they can earn money and remind them how fun it can be being a Mylot member. Send out this type of email monthly. If you're friend is busy right now still don't give up on her. I joined a year ago and I never did anything here for a year because I was too busy last year to be a active MyLot member. I was only able to log-in last month and become active after a year of being a member because I now have more time to spend on the internet.

I will also try harder after the holidays as I am nearing the paying and focusing on my own posts. I will try showing my payment proof to my referrals and post it on a blog and see if that can do anything.
I agree it is wasting energy to refer people who are not even interested from the start. I think I might have more luck with Platinum Lounge because it is much more like Facebook and myspace than mylot will ever be. Anyways, thanks for the advice and response!

I don't worry about referrals. They are under no obligation to make money for us. Cheers!!

I think I have more than 10 referrals but the sad fact about it is they only are good at the start and usually in a couple of days they are gone already. I think no amount of persuasion can be done to make them active considering that people have different options of earning online. I think you will agree with me that we have to do a lot of post to make great earnings here. But as for me, I like it here since the people are very nice. That is why I am staying and from time to time post and reply to other post. Perhaps one way to encourage them would be to respond to their post also. But then again such is not a guarantee that they would stick it out.

You are lucky they stay active in the first place. Two of my referrals have not even logged in since they signed up. I felt very happy to have referrals but then very disappointed to see them inactive.
It is hard to earn at mylot. I do agree you have to post a lot. I also stay here for the nice community as much as for the money.
I will try responding to their discussions and posts.

I think it is tough for people who do not have any interest to participate actively in a forum or social networking site to continue here. Even if you are able to convince them to carry on actively now...chances are that they will go silent in another day or 2. In order to be active, they must first find their interest in the site.

You can do nothing about your referrals except encouraging them to post and be active because myLot is not for everyone. If you look at the number of members here you will see it is large but maybe 10% of those members are active and a of of people do sign up then do nothing else. I do not have any referrals although I have told a few people about myLot and a couple did sign up but they are no longer coming here.
There are quite a number of different forums on the internet. Some are like myLot in that they pay you to post discussions and responses, others pay for you to review products and services and yet still a third group pay in goods or similar rather than pay money.
If you are interested you could show your referrals proof of your payment plus if you keeop track of the amount of time that you spend here on myLot, it might encourage others to start being active. However I am not sure that it would be enough for most people as I believe a person either wants to post on myLot or they are simply not interested.
Good luck and I suggest you concentrate on your own posts here on myLot and look at any money you earn from your referrals as a nice bonus.

Thank you for your thoughts and ideas. I am still concentrating on my own posts but am thinking ahead to when I cannot stay as active as I want or need to reach payout. I have not yet reached payout here, but have earned $6.70.
I think what I will do is stop trying to get referrals right now and try to reach payout. I am doing well with this plan having made $6.70 already and averaging about 30 cents a day. What I will do is, reach payout, receive payment :) and post my payment proof and referral link where ever it is allowed.
What do you think about my plan? Good?

I don't even bother anymore. Most of my friends aren't as addicted to the Internet as I am. ;) They don't like the idea of just sitting and posting all day. So, they are like the opposite of me. *LOL* I can't convince them that they really can earn money if they make quality posts. I'm not a pushy person, so I always just drop it. I'll just earn money with my own posts. :)
