My best opinion would be that it depends on the guy, the country and the situation. There is a lot to be considered here.

If it is a professional guy in America, it is actually expected. And if he is meeting clients or a female friend then it is a huge plus.

Then again, if it is a coal miner or a sports guy, I think women would be surprised here in America to see a man carrying an umbrella.

But in your situation, there is hot sun and people expect it. So if people expect a man to use it against the sun or the rain, then it does not harm your masculinity at all.

hello jingbautista.. well for me it is okey for a guy to bring an umbrella... err.. umbrellas are not only design for girls.. guys can also use them... actually it's not bad for a guy to bring an umbrella.. it is only there prides that stops them from bringing umbrella cause they afraid that other people may laugh at them.. duh.. it's their own choice.. whether not to bring an umbrella and got soak in the rain like a wet chicken... haha.. or bring an umbrella and be sage from the rain but be laugh at of some stupid persons.. well as for me I will really appreciate guys that brings an umbrella with them.. it's not bad but it's being a responsible one... happy mylotting and GOD BLESS...

Hello jingbautista. I think it is okay for a guy to bring an umbrella depending on what kind of umbrella it is. I think if it is an umbrella with girly designs in it, they might think of something else but, if it is just a plain umbrella, I dont see anything wrong with it.

Its ok to bring umbrella jing than to get wet. I see guys bringing umbrella here and even kuya jerry brings a huge umbrella when it rains hard. Its also there for our protection and i guess theres no discrimination when it comes to bringing things that are essential to our protection.

Yes, of course, it is more than okay for a man to use an umbrella, jingbautista. An umbrella is not merely a fashion accessory, but is a practical way to protect oneself from the elements. It matters not what others think of a man who is using an umbrella. It only matters if the umbrella is offering needed protection to the man. Hopefully, men have enough sense to use something that helps them without worrying what other people think about it.

There's nothing wrong for a guy to bring umbrella whether it is raining or not. Here in the Philippines, the weather is very different. It's hot even when it's already 5 am . Women and men need equal protection from skin diseases.

I have this guy friend who does not bring an umbrella even when it rains, his reason was, he is a guy. With such answer, I said, "stupid"...He easily gets colds and fever. I told him, "if you think, taking an umbrella would be less to your masculinity, you are wrong"...Then i continued, "people will think that you are more straight when you know how to protect yourself from sickness"...I did not know if he got what I want to imply to him....

In terms of heat, guys are no exceptions in using an umbrella. It isn't a measure of masculinity, anyway.

I have noticed that a lot of guys have umbrellas here when it rains in Calif so yea it is ok for a guy to bring an umbrella.

yes it is.. it's better to bring one than to get wet.. don't mind what other people might think of you.. i used to hate bringing an umbrella too but when i got sick, i've realized the value of it..
