Do I Attract Idiots or Am I Speaking a Language Known Only to Myself?

You think you have explained something quite simply or even sometimes said something which you wouldn't have thought needed to be explained but still have to try to explain over and over again to someone who seems not to have understood what you have said.
I do wonder sometimes whether I am speaking a different language which only I can recognise as plain English.
Does anyone else have this trouble and how do you deal with it?

Best way to deal with that kind of situation, picture yourself explaining it to an 8 yr old child. That usually works for me. In some cases even that fails miserably and I'm left wondering how these people survive day to day in this world with their head up their.... well I'm sure you see where I'm going with this.

This is the problem I have been having. I have an 8 year old child but trying to explain things to some people the way I would do to him still seems to get me nowhere! One friend of mine is particularly annoying. She is forever emailing me and I do wonder how someone who can not understand something which I could have explained to my 3 year old could possibly know how to use a computer!

Well,I have this trouble many times.
If that is the case, please remember not to be angry. After all,not all people have such a good understanding as you.
At this time, the only thing you should do is to talk to him/her patiently until he/she can understand well.
That's my opinion,and I always do like this.Thanks!

I try not to get angry especially as some people get upset by this sort of thing. That can make it a lot more difficult, not only is there explaining to be done but it has to be done in a way which can not possibly be taken the wrong way. I have discovered that that is actually impossible with some people though!

In response to the title of your discussion...............yes, I'm afraid you seem to attract idiots, I don't know why, maybe it's because they think you'll be nice to them.
Sometimes I don't understand what someone's saying, but it's just because they haven't explained it properly. I've had quite a few people annoy me by asking me a simple question, I give a simple answer and they say......"whaaat", you know in that, I'm too dim to even know my own name way. If that does happen, I usually calmly and politley tell them again and again and again, until they finally understand it, then I go and have a cup of tea. :)

It is annoying though, especially when you rephrase and rephrase and explain and explain and you really can't think of any simpler way to put it and they STILL don't get it. Smile and pass on, that's a good thing to do although that only works talking F2F but I find most idiots are incapable of actual conversation but, surprisingly, can manage to type or even use a telephone.
