this music makes me dizzy...

One time I was waiting for a movie to start at the Crest Theatre in Sacramento, California. It is an "art" theatre that never shows common blockbuster movies; foreign films, documentries, older movies - works that are not shown anyplace else. They play a variety of music before the film starts, and this one incident was too much for me. I left the room and waited outside until they turned the noise off. Even rap I can tolerate. It had a melody totally out of tune, some screaming (any screaming in a work lowers my tolerance) - I just couldn't remain in any place where it can be heard.

Anything shrill and extremely loud and incomprehensible makes me feel that way. I want to be able to hear and understand what it is I am listening to. Some of the stuff I hear blaring out somebody's car window as they drive down the street makes me crazy.
