My apartment doesn't really smell bad, but my boyfriend and I want it to smell really good when you walk in the door. We've used all types of air fresheners and everything, but nothing really works all too well. What do you use?

Like other people have said, cleaning the house is the easiest way. I love it when everything smells of wax polish or beeswax. I also make my own gel airfreshners by making up some gelatine, and dropping a few drops of essential oils into it. I put this in shot glasses around the house and they work quite well. Another thing that would work when you're in the house is burning some simmering granules or wax melts in an oil burner. I have wax melts at the minute that make the whole house smell of blueberries!

I keep eucalyptus twigs in vases around the room, and by the entry door. If you like the scent, it really permeates the air nicely, especially if it's in a sunny spot (or near a heater vent.) They not only look pretty, they have a fresh smell. Another thing I do is I have a mini-crock pot that I fill with spices and water. When I do that, or put a pan of it on the stove a while, the whole house smells wonderful. My favorite blends to use are cinnamon, vanilla, all-spice, and natural scents that go together like that. There's all kinds of combos you can make up to use, whether it's essential oils, or natural spices. Sometimes I put in pumpkin pie spices and people ask if I've been baking all day lol. Everybody always tells me my house smells great. These 2 tricks work well for me!

Well, I always think when I have cleaned each day the home smells fresh and clean. However, if I do not clean that day, I like to use a candle or I put cinnamon sticks into a pan of water on the stove and let it simmer all day. I know that many spices will help, but I prefer the smell of cinnamon.

Hi. Kmarie923. I use Febreze Noticeables in my bedroom and in my living room too. I use a dual air fresher, by Air Wick in the other two rooms. My trailer is likes your home. It does not smell bad in here, but we both would like to have a nice scent in our home though.

I clean the house. Which usually leaves it smelling of the cleaners I used. SO I have been known to put a nice simmering pot on the stove. In the pot I put an orange peel, and some cinnamon. It can leave the house smelling yummy for a few days. A couple of well placed scented candles can do the trick too.
