Here's a thought... If you will be a character in a book, who will you be? I like to be REBECCA BLOOMWOOD in the Shopaholic Series of Sophie Kinsella. She is witty, outright funny. She loves her family. She hones her skills. Above all else, she stands up whenever face with problems. Any thoughts on this?

My fiance and I have been reading a nice book series about Immigrants and their immigration to America. I think I would like to be Kristina from the book. She is the mother of four kids, and is the most wonderful woman. She has her hardships with being pregnant and going to America by boat, but she stands by her husband Karl Oskar and is basically a hard working woman. She stays busy darning, and cooking, tending to the children, and to her Husband we he ails. We're not done with the series yet, but it's a nice series. There is a book that has yet to be read yet, we just got it. It's about a Texas Ranger and is by Willie Nelson. I'm not sure who i'd like to be, but the texas ranger, lol, is probably who.

You and your fiance must be very in love with each other! It's pretty uncommon nowadays to share a hobby or any interests to your partner. But look at you! Sharing the same passion in reading, that's so cool! Keep it up! Anyways, any woman who stands by her husband is worthy of praises. I've been telling hellcowboy about the saga "The Immigrants" and you would probably want to check it out as well. It is a six-part novel series. Oh by the way...correct me if I'm wrong, is your fiance, hellcowboy? I just had a wild guess, though. I hope I'm right. Back to the book, if you love Kristina from The Emigrants, you will probably love May Ling, Dan Lavette's lover who was very intelligent and has a strong character. There is also Barbara, the immigrant's daughter but the character will immerse i think in the 4th book, if i'm not mistaken. Geez, there are a lot of characters I wanted to play. And posting only one is not enough. I enjoyed reading your response. Keep it up! Thank you.

Yes, Hellcowboy happens to be my fiance. I started on this site first, and he followed. I think the similarities in our names, or I hope, makes people think we are atleast dating. The book you've described sounds like it will definitely be worth reading into, I think that my fiance and I would both enjoy reading it. I believe you also said about an author's autobiography? You may have told that to my fiance, but I'm not sure. In any case, I think that it's kind of nice to see an author who makes their autobiography stand out and adds such personal things to it. I'm sure it was sad to read of his hardships, but it's also good to know he became successful, and I am sure fulfilled his dreams. I know what you mean about characters in a book as I also liked one other charcter in "The Emigrant" series, by the way, it's a series of four books. One of the other character's, Fina Kajska, is hard headed but set in her ways. She stands by her husband. Then there's another one, Inga Lena, She's a harlot but she repents and becomes an honest woman, her and Kristina become friends... Well I better not say anymore, don't want to spoil it for you! Have a wonderful day!

I would want to be myself in a book that I wrote about my life. I think that the most interesting story you will ever read is one about yourself. If I were to write a book I would probably add in some fictional elements or horror elements because those are the kind of genres that I'm also in to. This is a very cool discussion. Thank You.

Now I know why you're giving me the creeps. You're into horror, that's why. You should be proud, you're already effective! Keep it up, dude! i like it. Pour in more thoughts. Really appreciate it.

What a difficult decision I've read so many books with so many good characters that it's not easy to say just which one of them I'd like to have been but probably one of them that does not come to a bad end

This is a pretty good discussion and I have never actually given any thought to be a character in a book, and I am sure there are a lot of people out there who would love to be a character is a specific book because they either love the book,or they would love to see what the characters life is like as opposed to their own life because it would be very interesting, and then I am sure there are a lot of people either who do not read books,or they do not care about being a character in a book because they do not think it would be interesting,or because they spend their time thinking about other things, and I can understand why someone would or would not want to be a character in a book, and that is cool you would want to be Rebecca Bloomwood in the Shopaholic Series of Sophie Kinsella, and I bet she is very witty, outright funny, and I bet she does love her family, and that is cool that she hones her skills, and that is good that she stands up whenever she is faced with a problem because that is always a good thing, and everyone should stand up when they are faced with a problem or difficulty and never back down,I think it would be awesome to be a character in a book because it would be an interesting experience and something different than everyday life, and one of the characters I would love to be would be Colonel Mustard the book series Clue because I have always liked Colonel Mustard and I would love to be him,and play along with the other suspects who try to commit crimes in Mr Boddy's mansion because it would be awesome, another character I would love to be would be Sherlock Homes because he is an awesome detective and he is always solving all kinds of cases and mysteries and I have always loved mysteries, and I love reading books with mysteries especially murder mysteries, and watching television shows with murder mysteries because I love guessing at who I think the culprit is and then finding out at the end if I was right or not because it is really exciting to find out if I was right or if I was wrong how close I was to being right, and the last character I would like to be would be Karl Oscar in the book series The Emigrants by Vilhelm Moberg which is a series of four books about Karl Oscar, his wife Kristina, his brother Robert, and several other Swedes who are emigrating to North America from Sweden in the 1850's in search of new and better lives, and I would have loved to have been Karl Oscar because back then things were simpler, and he worked his farm to make an honest living and whatever he got he worked for,and I would have loved to have been him going on the long adventure to reach North American because it would have been very exciting, especially with my fiance by my side because I would have wanted her to be Kristina and be on the adventure with me,and Karl Oscar and Kristina loved each other as much as me and my fiance love each other which is very sweet.

Colonel Mustard was multi-talented, probably why he was the center of attention by dashing ladies. No doubt, "Michael" as he was fondly known was also the favorite charater in cluedo boardgame. On the other hand, I haven't read any books from Vilhelm Moberg. But I read a trilogy novel something very similar to that. Probably you are already familiar with Howard fast's The Immigrants. Where "The Emigrants" characters were from Sweden, "The Immigrants" characters were originally from Italy but made their way to California. From very poor family, they have risen to become the most powerful shipping magnate. Another book worth reading is "Angela's Ashes" by Frank McCourt. It is an autobiography of the author. How he wrote the book was really fascinating. I cried as i learned the hardships they undergone as poor Irish people venturing their way to New York until he became successful at age 19. It's really worth reading. Thanks for the response. I appreciate the suggestions. I'll check Vilhelm Moberg's book tomorrow.
