Bailout money doesn’t belong to us? Don’t you know it’s not your money, but that it belongs to Congress? Rep. Joe Knollenberg is a Republican from Michigan who believes that tax money doesn’t come from taxpayers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZyAd_rJAx4&eurl=http://hotair.com/archives/2008/11/19/video-bailout-money-doesnt-belong-to-us/ How it makes you feel?

Gees, did Joe Knollenberg fall and hit his head or something. It's well known that the tax payers are the ones that is paying for this bail out. There is a huge fight now to see if the public (taxpayers) gets to know exactly where the money is going. Which I think we should know what we are paying for. I find it funny that he thinks it's coming from Congress and not us the tax payers. I mean where does he think Congress get money from.

I'm not a U.S citizen, but I'd like to ask the Republican gentleman just one question. "Where did it come from, if it wasn't from the taxpayers?"

I am wondering how many politicians believe it is not taxpayers money..... Banks get the money, but people are still screw with their houses.... Same with car industry. People are loosing jobs in car industry, where the money are going?

I'm not surprised any more by what politicians say, especially after an election. The IRS was kind enough to send me a letter a few weeks ago saying that due to some changes in some tax law, I need to cough up another $1500 for 2006 taxes. Of course, I can put it on an easy payment plan, with interest and penalties and "fees" being applied each month until it's paid off. I'm a giver. But I like to choose who I give to. It looks like this Christmas I'll be giving to Uncle Sam. Oh well, I guess "I'll render unto Caesar..."

If tax doesn't come from taxpayers, then why are they called taxpayers in the first place? I think that congressman needs a dictionary! Monthly, I am deducted for my taxes which is amounting almost 42 dollars and I am really sad knowing that not all my taxes are being given back to people. Everywhere, there are really politician who is after on improving themselves and not caring about their people. Oh! If only we can elect officers who we want to stay and go, he'll be the first one to be kicked out on his position!

Hello Polachicago, I was watching Cavuto when this scoundrel made his declaration that "it's not the taxpayer's money". I was so stunned that I had to back up the DVR to hear him repeat his tyrannical remark. Prior to November's election I made a point of sharing my commitment to send no incumbent back to DC. I wrote about it here in MyLot, and similarly discussed it with real-life friends and associates. I followed through on my commitment, though it is abundently clear that I was in the minority. Apparently the pathetic approval rating of our current Congress wasn't sufficient enough reason for voters to send the corrupt pigs in Congress packing, with a pink slip in hand. Regardless of party affiliation, when We The People elect presumptuous, self-serving pigs like Knollenberg -- the whole nation gets screwed. Let me see if I can make this next point clearly, concisely, and politically correctly: Stop electing tyrannical, self-serving, power-hungry, abusive pigs to the Congress, people! Well, two out of three ain't bad, eh?

it makes me feel that we have elected A$$hole to look after our well being. you know it is just the silliest thing for them to even think that's it's not our money we are giving to billionaires to help them bail out their failing companies. where were they when i didn't have enough money for my rent when is was first starting out? no one bailed me out. why don't they stop paying themelves millions of dollars every year take that money an invest it into their own companies. thats what the small business owner has to do. but on the other hand, we need to be more carefull who we put in charge of our well being.

of course they have. but again we have choices, and if we don't make a choose then they will be made for us. so we should stop bying cars, and we should make sure when we vote we listen to what people say, and we should make sure that we always vote. we need to make sure that we have our say, trust me when you speak for what is true for you, you will see things turn around

Over 80% of ALL the money in the USA is in REALITY just numbers on a computer screen. It does NOT exsist!!!.. Physical or Actual paper bills and coins account for about 18% of what we have in banks, registers.. cash and so on... The FEDERAL RESERVE SYSTEM has been built so that as soon as you borrow 10 dollars from a bank.. you will be paying back $18.00 so... multyply this by Billions of dollars and you can see that NO one can ever pay back what they borrowed .. especially big amounts!! This so called "bailout".. is a BIG LIE!!!.. they are ROBBING US blind!!.

Anytime you take my money that I worked for, and you give it to some company to bail them out, not even caring what the tax payer thinks it is wrong, it is our money, we worked for it, and with out the tax payer the government would have nothing to bail out these companies with. Isn't it funny anymore that you are the one working and paying the taxes but all of a sudden all that you have belongs to the government. Unfortunaly I think it is going to get a lot worse when Obama takes office as he too believe that your money is his money and he should have a right to dispense it where he thinks it should go. And how much you have. Congress needs to remember with out the people they are nothing. We put them there too bad some didn't see that congress needed a fix in this election and is letting them continue what they have been doing for the past couple years and people fell right into it because everyone was screaming Bush and that took the picture off of congress. Now we really do have 4 more years of the same old crap.

Bush screw BIG TIME, Obama didn't start yet. I would give him a chance to do things. It can not be worst, it can only get better. At least Obama is smart, not like brain damaged Bush.
