Robert Pattinson as the Eleventh Doctor?

I just found an article that said Robert Pattinson (Twilight, Harry Potter) has voiced an interest in taking over the role of Doctor Who when David Tennant leaves the show in 2010. There are some other actors in line for the role (the only one mentioned by name in the article was Paterson Joseph http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0430667/, who has actually already been on two episodes of the show in 2005). So, what do you think? Could the public accept him making the transition from a 17 year old boy (in both Twilight and Harry Potter) to a centuries old Time Lord? Do you think he would be good in the role? Since I'm in the States, I'm very much used to David Tennant because it's him on BBC America and it's him on the Sci Fi channel. I've seen past episodes with other Doctors but Tennant is the one I'm most familiar with. It's hard for me to imagine enjoying anyone else in the role. Another one of those things that makes me wonder how life would have been different if I'd been born there instead of here. :)
