Do you think that the word 'love' is over used?

From my observation the word 'love' is frequently used by many people. The value of the word seems to have dropped because it is being tossed around. I think the word should be used sparingly. This way when it is said to somebody the meaning is deep. I think love is more in the actions we do for the ones we love. Action, as they say it, speaks louder than words. I rarely use the word. What do you think on this matter? Do you think that we should always say 'I love you' or keep it for special occasions? Or do you have any other thoughts regarding this topic?

Children and older people should her I love you every day as should wives, sons, daughters, grandchildren, godchildren, cousins, dads, moms, daughter-inlaws,and all the real human beings in the world. Love never fails but people fail. Love is never puffed up and feels so good when it falls on the ears of anyone. Keep the I love yous coming and going out to all people who live on this earth because everyone needs a little love even from the lips of you.

It is nice to have contrasting views. At least it shows that we are normal human beings with varying views, adding to the colours of the world. I still prefer people not to frequently say it to me. I prefer action(s), rather than mere words. I think the word has become a cliche. My opinion has been shaped by several experiences, where persons saying the word did not really mean it. Thank you for your response.
