annoying the neighbours with your barking dog!  

If the dog is barking when your neighbours are not home then there isnt much you can do about it, but if they are home and letting it bark I would be pretty angry. I had a neighbour that used to let the dog out at 5:30 in the morning before she went to work and she would let it bark for half an hour straight while she did her hair. I got so fed up that I told her Animal Control called my house because they thought it was my dog. Next time the dog keeps barking I was going to tell them it was her dog and she would get slapped with a noise disturbance fine or take the dog away. Never had a problem after that day. Of course the animal control never really did call my house, I just didnt know what else to do to shut the dog up.

First I would try to get to the bottom of the barking. Our neighbors that finally moved out (yay!) had a dog that barked all the time. So they'd buy us presents not to complain.

But really, all they needed to do was take better care of the dog. It had no shelter of any kind in their yard and it didn't get any attention either. We told them to provide shelter and they put an old table outside. It actually helped a little despite being a pretty stupid solution (I thought everyone has heard of doghouses?).

But we weren't happy they moved because of the dog, since thankfully at least it didn't bark or howl at night. The neighbors used to argue right below my window at 2am! Shouting at each other right on the porch. I was about ready to go outside and blast them with a hose!
