Do you just hold your feelings in or do you let them all hang out? When you are upset do you blurt the first thing that comes out of your mouth? When someone hurts your feelings do you snap right back at them?
Some say that people who do this are healthier than those that hold their anger in.
Others seem to think that raging at someone else could cause a heart attack.
What do you think?

| 1. jupiterchild (9) | 1 year ago | When I'm annoyed I can usually hold my feelings in, or at least articulate them without making the other person feel bad, or causing a scene. When I'm very angry though, it's like my mouth just runs on it's own. I literally think to myself, "Shut up, quit saying that!" but it's too late, it's already been said and I'm as surprised as everyone else.

Of course after that I feel like a complete idiot. Fortunately it does not happen that often. Although I've got a situation brewing at the moment that may turn into a full blown episode. Gotta work on that.

savak03 (2205) | 1 year ago | Sometimes you just have to let it out. I know what you mean. Also, sometimes the person you're mad at might not even realize they have offended until you tell them plainly.
I don't think anger would cause a heart attack either unless you already had a bad heart.

3. surveytaker29345 (436) | 1 year ago | I try to always think about what I am going to say before I respond to a conversation. I think this helps to prevent me from saying the wrong thing and upsetting someone. I think sometimes, I hold my feeling in too much. I do not think that this is a healthy habbit. I think it is probably best if we let our feelings out instead of holding them inside.
Maybe, I will decide to take my own advice lol.

savak03 (2205) | 1 year ago | Actually I believe there is a time and place for everything. Sometimes it is better if we keep our mouth shut to keep the peace but sometimes some righteous anger is good for everyone. Sometimes a person just has to be told in no uncertain terms that they are wrong.

| 4. xiarra23 (11) | 4 months ago | I wouldn't say that I hold my true feelings in. More like wait for someone who is willing to listen. I learned that not everyone you expect to want to hear your problems really wants to hear your problems. Even the ones closest to you. So I save my thoughts for later. That also gives me a chance to think about them and keep myself from saying the wrong thing to the wrong person.

savak03 (2205) | 4 months ago | That shows a great deal of wisdom on your part. Especially taking time to think over what you might say before you actually put it into words will save a lot of hurt feelings.
