How can you publish a book?

This is a very difficult process, if you get it done at all. I finished writing three years ago, and had teaching colleagues and friends read and edit my novel. I got very good feedback from all concerned, but it is still not published. Publishers usually go with proven authors or famous names. I'm neither. I will probably finish up getting Lulu to publish it so at least I can have some copies for friends, and others who helped the process. I wish you very good luck.
