Christmas Tree Lighting @ the National Harbor  

We went to the Christmas Tree Lighting @ the National Harbor here in Washington DC. We were there earlier than the said time cause we don't want the hassle of traffic jams going there or finding that we have to look for parking spot for a long period of time. I guess most of the people are thinking of the same thing coz when we arrived at the National Harbor, there is a little bit of traffic jam already and a long line for parking spaces. It's a good thing that they have big spaces for parking so even if there is a long line, there is enough space for everyone. We arrived there with an hour and a half to spare so we were able to go around the harbor. Considerig that they have just started its construction about a year ago, it is almost done already. The place is just awesome.
The program started on time. There was a group who played Christmas song while we were waiting for the lighting itself. When it was time to light the tree, they turned off all the lights within the area. Although there was a technical difficulty for a few seconds, the lighting of the tree proceeded without further problems. It was spectacular. The tree is 60 feet tall with a 6 feet star on top. There were about thousands and thousands of light that were on the tree. A few minutes after the lighting, the fireworks began. This made everyone shout with joy. Truly an amazing night to remember.
