Are there any fellow Karen Carpenter lovers out there? I love the Carpenters!!!  

That was such a tragedy her dying like that, in those very sad, upsetting circumstances, I believe she was only 34, she believed she wasn't lovable and the man she wanted didn't want her so she became anorexic. Horrific, she had so much going for her and her voice was out of this world, and listening to her music does make you feel melancholy, I usually play The Carpenters when I just want to shut the world out! The songs are enchanting and yes it does relax you, it also makes you contemplate your own life. A sad loss to the world! Some of the songs and lyrics talk about being without love and learning to live life without love, just like me in fact!

Yeah, I remember the Carpenters but I do not know much about their song. I only remember one song I love so much....
"When I was young, I listen to the radio. Waiting for my favorite song"
"When they play, I sing a long. It's make me smile...."

It was "Yesterday once more", it's bring back my childhood memory.

Hi Andrew, I sure enjoy her songs. It's such a pity that she died so young. There were many of her songs that I enjoy, like We Only Just Begun, Rainy Days and Mondays, Masquerade, Close to You.

When I was in high school, my singing coach/choir director had me singing all the Carpenter songs because Karen Carpenter's voice range is so forgiving. You're right about her voice being soothing - as is the tempo of the music. I've always loved the Carpenter songs, being old enough to hear them when they were first released. Even though most people like Close to You and We've Only Just Begun as wedding songs, and favor their melancholy songs, my favorite Carpenters song was always Top of the World. It's irresistibly upbeat and cheerful, even if it is a little sappy.

So do I! I actually don't like any of the modern pop singers at all. In fact I can't think of one who doesn't sound like a wailing banshee or as if they are going to be sick at any moment. There is also the slight problem that I can't understand one single word of what they are wailing about. They come on the radio in between talkback and I turn them off.

Karen Carpenter is just one of a very few whose voice I find totally pleasing, and yes I am certainly a great fan of the Carpenters. What a pity it had to end so sadly. What a waste of a lovely and talented girl.

your so right. she had the voice of an angel and i guess now shes singing with the angels. if only she hadnt worried so much about her weight we would still be listening to new songs of hers.

i have always loved Carpenters. i have most of their songs with me and i listen to them regularly.My favorites being 'Top of the World', Yesterday once more, Beechwood and Touch me when we're dancing..I have always felt that she had one of the most clear and crisp voices ever..

Hi Andrew! I envy you right now that you are relaxing while listening to Karen Carpenter's voice. Yes, her voice is soothing and relaxing. I love her too and i used to know almost all of their songs. When i was younger, i used to imagine and day dream while, listening to her songs. Whenever i hear Rainy days and Mondays, i imagine that i am with my boyfriend and we are just passing time away. Watching raindrops from the window and of course drinking a hot cup of chocolate or coffee. But that was just a dream then, and it never came true.

Count me in, friend. I have my Carpenters CD and my fiance gave that to me as a Christmas present last year. He knew that I love Carpenters so much. I even love singing their songs. I have watched the life story of Karen Carpenter and it was such a tragic death. How she suffered from Anorexia and she did not know that she has it. I am not so sure about that but that is my conclusion to the movie...
