| | i usually change the whole computer instead of changing some parts, cause many new parts may not be compatible with the old motherboard, so instead of changing the motherboard and other parts i could buy a new computer the only part which i changed lately is the monitor, i had a big and old crt monitor and i replaced it with a new LCD one. | | | | | | |

| | My two desktop home PC's have always been upgrades-in-progress. That's because I work in the computer industry and I'm always ready to try out new things. Upgrading is actually cheaper I think. Because the technology is dynamic and product pricing is fluid. For instance, I must've changed hard drives 5x for the last 4 months. Because bigger capacity drives have become cheaper and it makes sense to sell my slightly-used hard drives (while they're still under warranty and easier to sell) and just add a few hundred pesos to buy a bigger capacity brand new drive. But if you wait for your pc to get 2 or 3 years old, it's harder to sell them because they're now technologically older and if ever you manage to find a buyer, you can only sell them for almost a 3rd of their original value. This year alone, I changed my processor and memory 3x, for faster models. | | | | | | |

| | Hi pehpot I have only had my latop for 18months but think there is still plenty of life in it before I need to upgrade it. My mum went to upgrade her pc and they told her that it was too old and they don't make parts for it anymore. It was only 5 years old. She came out with a brand new pc!! | | | | | | |

| | I don't really upgrade my computer as long as it runs perfectly i don't upgrade anything, but when it becomes slow is the time i start thinking about a higher RAM or processor. But there is this friend of mine who upgrade his computer every month, i mean each and every month he would buy a new motherboard,Ram and even processor, and i asked him why he was doing that and he said to test different computer parts. I think is just a waste of money to upgrade even if the computer is running smooth with no problems | | | | | | |
