How many days do you wait before you select a "best response" on myLot?  

Ideally its best to wait for as many responses as you can get before selecting a best response. Now that can happen over a single or a couple of days. But then its also impulsive at times, wherein we get so impressed wiht a particular response that we decide to mark it immediately as the best. And on the down side sometimes i find it hard to choose and procastinate on deciding and do not do so even after a couple of months.

there is no limit..its up to you..to me i can select after im read that responses..

mylot suggests we wait a few days; I usually wait until the discussion has been idle a week or more, although every once in a great while I get a response in the first hour or so that I just have to give it to.

i guess i just never really get around to doing that part in less i can't find anything on mylot to response too lol i never really think to do it either sometimes until i see one of these discussions come up.. then it pop into my head to do lol so i'll probably be picking some in a couple of days or some now that you've reminded me of it.. but there is no time limit and you don't even have to do it if you don't want ... i've forgotten what it does anyway i think its something with the star? but does that even mean anything? does it allow us to make more money if we have a high star? i don't think it does so it doesn't matter if you do it or not.. it's just fun i guess? something to do lol

There is no time limit, so you could choose best response straight away, but I personally would not do that, because it's a silly thing to do.
For me I let the discussion go for about 2-3 months before choosing a best response because there are most likely other people to respond, so we should give them a chance and see what there opinion is. If you think all of the answers to your discussion don't help, aren't even good quality and don't deserve best response, just don't give it out. Maybe someone else might post something better, and even if they don't, never give someone a best response if they don't deserve it.

I would normally wait for more than 7 days before selecting the best response. However, there are many times that I have waited for more than that before making my selection as to allow more people to leave their responses.

Once I am done waiting, I would go to my unresolved list and check the discussions that I want to close. Even if there is only one response for a discussion that have been opened for a long time, that particular response would be given or noted as the best response.

This had happened twice so far in my case where the only response had been given the best response. However, the funny thing is right after the best response have been given, suddenly new responses started to come in. Too bad that we can't reverse the process and those late responses, no matter how good they are would be just too late to be selected as the best!

I generally wait one week, but sometimes I end up not waiting that long. Other times I'll wait much longer because the discussion might not get any responses for several months.

Usually I waited for 2 or 3 days and if it the best so far I just select it for the best respond. Just give some time for other members to respond to your discussion cause sometime they only had time to post it a few days after it appears. Not all are online everyday and there is too much discussion every day.

When I raised new discussion, and there are responces to that, I usually wait for a day to read all the responces and from that I decided to choose the best responces. Actually, It's up to you whether you wait for days or weeks before choosing your best responces here in mylot. But if you think the very first response on your discussion already contains the information that you wanted to know, then don't waste your time and mark that as the best response from your discusion..:-) Happy mylotting!
