i get i dunno how many channels (pretty much all of them that is possible) and i still have times where i cant find ANYTHING on tv! i end up ondemanding something from comcast or watching dvds or something and i just dont understand how this is possible?? is it that cable tends to show the same thing 10 times before they do something new or just me getting too bored or what??!?! i like anything from comedies, drama, horror, documentaries, educational, bios etc etc so its not like i dont like many things to where that limits what i would want to watch LOL!!

ha ha ha ha ha... and here I am thinking that I am the only one facing the same problem. I too have quite a few channels. And sometimes, it is really frustrating to not be able to find something good on TV. Otherwise, it is something good on TV all at the same time, within the same time slot! I think it is a conspiracy between the different servicer providers. To force you to get the on demand programs at times in order to generate sales.

ha ha ha ha ha... A DVR is not that expensive actually. But even with a DVR, you can only record one show on one channel at a time. Can't do two or more shows concurrently. And the different channels seems to be sharing schedules such that they will overlap the good shows timing so that you can only catch one or miss some part of the other. Like I said, it is a conspiracy!

some can record more than one at a time and you can watch something totally different.. well my cable place charges me to even have the right to have it even if i already own the machine.. i think it like 15-30 bucks a month so it will work and if i dont own the machine i have to pay double to rent theres.. i cant afford anything right now as is so adding isnt happening.. not to mention i have to keep a certain level of my cable package so i couldnt cut all the channels back to where i could afford it.. at most i could take off the movie channels but i would still have to keep extended everything

I moved recently and when I moved I did not sign up for cable or satellite. I am currently just using analog and digital antenna tv. Most of it is boring. But I have found hulu.com and have been watching a lot of good old tv shows that are not on the cable stations around here so it has been fun. There are so many to choose from. I also am watching old tv episodes from cbs.com which has been good fun. I am almost "addicted" to MacGyver which I never watched when it was actually on tv, but am loving now that I am watching on cbs.com. There are a lot of others that am enjoying too. On hulu there are also good movies to watch. None of them have to be downloaded and they are free. It is going to take me a long time to watch everything I want to watch on hulu, and they keep adding more.

The good thing about hulu.com is that there are so many tv shows on there I won't run out of shows to watch for a long time. They keep adding to the list also. The same with the movies. They have added more movies just for over the holidays. I am hoping to find some other sites eventually like hulu where you can watch full episodes without downloading anything. CBS.com is also still good for old episodes, but they don't have as many as hulu does.

When we first got satellite I was so excited. ALRIGHT we are going to have lots of channels to watch. That was very short lived. You are right. They tend to show things over and over again. Especially on our movie channel. If I wanted to watch a movie over and over again i'd buy the DVD. lol. I surf through all the channels and now if I don't have something to watch I just log onto the computer and do something online to cure my boredom.

I hardly watch TV at all. We went from 5 channels - yes just 5 - to 195 overnight and there is nothing worthwhile on any of them. If I had my way we would ditch the thing. I only see the news and weather and the occasional documentary film. We pay about $700 a year to watch TV here and it's money down the drain so far as I am concerned.

I've noticed that, too. I don't watch a lot of TV but, when hubby and I are relaxing, he always has the TV on. Sometimes, we do exactly what you do... watch a DVD or Movies on Demand (they have a bunch of free ones). It really is unbelieveable that, with all those channels, we can't find something we're interested in! I think they save the 'good' things for weekends, mostly special weekends like holidays and such. On top of that, they force us to pay so much for that! Hmmph!

Its because you have already watched most of whats on tv. And its not that there is nothing on, there is just nothing on you want to watch. Pick a random channel and trying watching something you have never showed an interest in wanting to watch..maybe it will surprise you.

I went through that this past weekend. We just could not find anything on that we felt like watching. I figure it was because it was around Thanksgiving and people have other things they would rather do, like spend time with family or go shopping. In the end, we decided to watch The Happening, which I got from Netflix. They may have been a bigger mistake because it was BAD! LOL
