When do you start Decorating for the Holiday?

i started way earlier than usual this year. the tree was up and decorated by the 19th. as well as all the inside decorations. took me several days with cast on. i did the outside decorations, just the side porch this year, this past saturday. normally i don't even bring out the decorations until the day after thanksgiving. and we usually have a real tree which we get the first week of dec. my s/o bought us an artificial tree for this year, easier for me to take care of with cast on left arm.

We start decorating right after Thanksgiving. We don't put up lights outside, were never really into that. We did it a couple of years and just did not get into it and alot of work. We like to decorate inside, christmas table cloths and napkins, towels, figurines, Christmas village, wreaths, etc. The tree is the last to go up and we wait till mid December to put up because we get a live tree and if we put it up too early it really dries outs. I really like decorating, we have so much fun doing it.

Holiday decorations are started in my place before one week itself.. they exhibit their decorations to friends and relatives too.

Not that it was a rule or anything, so when I was a bit older, I didn't bother to do it, and she came home expecting it up and was a bit disappointed.
Now that I have children I love decorating with them. I know many people here have already started to decorate and we went to the community tree lighting event on Saturday. But I don't start until after December starts, usually the first weekend of December.
We are planning on decorating this weekend. The kids are super excited.

i hate decorating for the holidays. i would rather spend my time and money elsewhere, but the last couple years being a stepmom, i got a tree and some lights for the kid. this year we are living in such a small place i dont know where we will put it. have to put it up and take it down with in a week or a bit more. we just dont have the room this year.

when i was in the Philippines my sister started christmas decorating after all souls day and now that i am here in the USA ayear ago i started it before thanksgiving but now i decided to decorate it this coming sunday after thanksgiving i guessed its better this way. I want my husband put the christmas tree for my coz its so big and heavy though. Have a wonderful day.

Hi that`s so soon to start decorating for the holiday, and I`m agree with you it`s so nice this time of the year, I begin to decorate my home begining december before Virgen`s day on 7th december, that`s my countrie`s tradition, and be ready for the chritsmas nigth, and I un-decorate my home around 6-7 january. I love this time because the family is all together, we share dinners, presents and love, some family comes from several places of the world and visit us. This time is so special for the kids, specifically my little cousins the are so happy recieving presents and having dinners together. Have a merry chritsmas...

My family usually starts decorating on Thanksgiving, but this year, we have spread the decorating out just a little bit. We put the outside lights up the Monday of Thanksgiving week. We do not have a tree up because we have to get another one, so trimming the tree has been pushed back a little. Once we get the tree, we'll be able to continue and finish decorating the house with the other decorations. For some reason, I cannot decorate the house unless a tree is up. It just won't have that Christmas feeling for me.

maybe next week we would start decorating. We have to buy a new Christmas tree coz the last one is so big that it occupies the whole room. And I hope we will finish decorating it the same day so we wont have to do the same thing the next day.
