When do you start Decorating for the Holiday? |
|
I know everyone has different traditions when it comes to holiday decorating. My family starts decorating as soon as Thanksgiving day. This year we put the tree up the day before Thanksgiving. We started with out outside decorations on Thanksgiving night and finished them by Saturday afternoon. It seems we run out of day time really fast this time of year. My son loves it when it is time to decorate. To me it makes the world seem happy and beautiful, even if it is just for a few days. I love christmas and hate it when I have to un-decorate. So when do you start decorating??

12. jesbellaine (3192) | 1 year ago | My family and I have been so busy even my siblings and cousin to decorate our home this past few weeks but my aunt already set a date on when we will be decorating our Christmas tree. And we will do it this coming weekend! Yahoo! We have this big Christmas tree that we love to decorate... and we are so excited to put gifts on it. For this year, we will have exchange gifts. Since my siblings and cuz doesn't have work yet, I would have to give them a budget money to buy for a gifts for their "monito/monita". hehehe... oh... I have plans of taking them into dinner and watch a movie next week... Can't wait!
Happy HOlidays and mylotting!

13. animeniak (347) | 1 year ago | I am pretty sure that my family will NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER again decorate for the christmas that is coming up. I have already seen bunch of christmas trees that other people have decorated, but the only time that my family actually decorated a christmas tree that I can recall... is probably once or twice during 19 years and 9 months of my life. Oh, I will probably decorate my own christmas tree whenever I get a family of my own, or whenever I start living by myself. I will DEFINITELY hang out with my friends and my girlfriend (whenever I get one) during christmas. Having christmas with my family... might sound kind of rude but is boring. But whenever I get a chance to start decorating for the holiday myself, I will probably start decorating whenever I feel like, but BEFORE the actual day. It could be someday before Thanksgiving, middle of october, or november, or december, or early november or december, but NEVER after the actual day. Happy mylotting and enjoy your decorating your holiday:)

16. thebeaddoodler (2768) | 1 year ago | I don't do a lot of holiday decoration, but I like to change flower arrangements and seasonal decorations about the first of December, put up some winter greenery and berrys etc. The nice greens and reds bring some color to a drab, dreary winter world. The tree goes up the 15th of December and comes down New Years eve or New Years day. Part of this tradition for me started as a child. We would go to the mountains and cut our own tree. Live trees shed their needles profusely even if you keep the trunk damp, and my mother didn't like sweeping up the "mess" they made, so we never got the tree very early, and didn't leave it up long after Christmas.
While I may not have holiday decorations up for very long, I like to leave the winter greenery (fake of course) up until the end of February, then I'm ready to get out some spring colors!

17. silverjam (641) | 1 year ago | When I was still in the Philippines we usually start decorating our home on either 1st or mid of October. Well, as you know Filipinos celbrates christmas the earliest and perhaps the longest(1st week of September to January). In most of the stores and malls christmas decorating are more earlier.
Now that am here in the USA I seldom see people who decorates that early. Here in the house I guess I won't be decorating at all. I don't see any christmas decors here and we're too busy to make some; we won't be spending christmas here anyway but maybe in one of my husband's siblings. This is my first christmas here so am some kind of unprepared, I hope next year I can be more decorative.

lindsaykaye82 (294) | 1 year ago | wow, they started putting christmas stuff out in the stores in the beginning of October where I live, Which I think is WRONG, you would have Jesus on one side of the isle and The Devil on the other... But anyways... I hope you enjoy the US and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.. Thank you for responding.

19. mimico (3257) | 1 year ago | This year, I didn't have anything to do so I started decorating early November, probably the first week. We used to start earlier though but now everyone in the house is so busy that we start quite late. I haven't even done any of my Christmas shopping yet! It's partly because I'm putting off spending though and not so much because I'm busy. Haha. The only part I hate about putting up decors is that it's so dusty!!!

lindsaykaye82 (294) | 1 year ago | lol yeah I hear ya... WE did most of our shopping for my son at least early when walmart had a 50% off already clearance priced sale. So he is somewhat taking care of, which is good because these hard times are leaving us broke, we had a whole month outta work and are still catching up for that, and of course a "Christmas Bonus" does not exist at my Husbands job.. Thank you for responding and Happy Holidays.

20. venshida (3442) | 1 year ago | I have the same tradition as yours. The day after Thanksgiving I am decorating. I am finish with the inside, but not with the outside. It's a little cold but as soon as it gets a little warmer I would do outside and decorate. I hate taking down he decorations also. I usually wait until January 6 to take mines down. I try to keep the Three Kings Day tradition of celebrating until January 6.
